New Releases for July and a Giveaway!

Well, we’re officially halfway through the year. Can you believe it?? Time sure does fly when you have great books to read! And speaking of great books, July brings in a bunch as you’ll see below. July also brings this year’s RWA conference which so many of us are looking forward to. One of the biggest parts of the conference is the Literacy signing (which is open to the public) where over 450 authors sign their books in one huge room. If you've never experienced it, I strongly encourage you do if you get the chance. So, if you could meet and get the autograph of any of your favorite authors, who would they be? Also, which July releases have you read? Of those, which ones do you recommend? Which ones are you most looking forward to? Tell us and one lucky poster will win a random July release!

Until August, happy reading!

  1. I'd love to meet Victoria Dahl, Tessa Dare, Lori Handeland, Victoria Alexander, Margaret Mallory, Julie Anne Long, Anna Campbell, Kerrelyn Sparks and so many more at the RWA Literacy Signing (which I'm planning to attend).
I haven't had a chance to read any of the July releases yet, I'm still working on June.
I'm most looking forward to reading Twice Tempted by a Rogue-Tessa Dare, Love in the Afternoon-Lisa Kleypas, I Kissed an Earl-Julie Anne Long, The Wicked Wyckerly-Patricia Rice and A Groom of One’s Own-Maya Rodale.

  2. Someday I'll make it to RWA when it becomes closer to home. I've met Tessa Dare and Shayla Black and they're wonderful. I would also like to meet Beth Williamson, Kate Pearce, Lauren Dane, so many others I can't name them all.

I'm mostly looking forward to reading Insatiable by Lauren Dane, Twice Tempted by A Rogue, Lady Isabelle's Scandalous Marriage, Ruthless Heart and I'll Be Slaying You.

  4. Andrea - I hope you have a blast at RWA! You and the other Romance Dishes will be a force to be recokened with.

I'm in the middle of reading The Search my Nora Roberts and really loving it. She's BACK!

Also just started reading Nalini Singh's Bonds of Justice. Loved it so much I stopped reading it to pick up the 7 previous books in the series!

I definitely recommend Love in the Afternoon and Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage - 2 GREAT reads.

I'm in the middle of reading Unbridled and Dark Embers - 2 new to me authors - so far, so good.

I'm really looking forward to reading Twice Bitten. And now that I've seen your list - I've got a few more to check out. Thanks. Have a great holiday weekend.

  5. If I could meet any author I think I would choose Nora Roberts. I have been reading her books for years and it is still a treat to read one of her books. I don't think I've read any July releases yet since I am so far behind on all the books I want to read but the book I most want to read is Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage. I've read The Madness of Lord Ian several times and really want to see what happens next to Isabella and Mac.

  6. Authors I would like to meet are Lynsay Sands and Bertrice Small. Nora Roberts and Robyn Carr are authors I would recommend but I have not read July releases yet. Others I look forward to reading are Lisa Kleypas, Jane Feather, and Gaelen Foley.

    Dawn ♥ romance

  7. July already -- ugh where has the time gone and why is the TBR pile still so big? ;)

RWA sounds fun and wow! over 450 authors in one place signing books! Wouldn't know were to look :) Think meeting Anna Cambell and her fellow Banditas would be hoot. Others would include Sandra Hill, Sally MacKnezie, Stephanie Laurens, Julie Garwood and the list grows :)

July reads: already read & recommend --
Love in the Afternoon -- Lisa Kleypas
The Brazen Bride -- Stephanie Laurens

    Looking forward to --
Lady Isabella’s Scandalous Marriage -- Jennifer Ashley
My Dangerous Duke -- Gaelen Foley
Claimed by a Scottish Lord -- Melody Thomas

There are a few others that sound good and I'm debating if there's room on my TBR pile for them ;)

  8. I have read more this summer than ever! (Of course, none of my summer household projects have been completed, but I'm reading about a book a day which I don't get to do during the school year.)

Anywho---I did meet Julia Quinn 2 years ago and got her autograph and a pic with her when she came to an author luncheon near Des Moines, IA. Very nice Q and A period during and after the lunch.

I would like to meet Tessa Dare, Emily Bryan, and Anna Campbell. I think that Anna's sense of humor would keep me in stitches the entire time! :)

Two of these books are already waiting for me at my fave bookstore and Tessa Dare's new one will be on the TBB pile as well.

Thanks for a great site and fun times, TRD! You ladies are wonderful!

  9. I've never attended a conference. I'd like to meet Elizabeth Hoyt, Sarah Mayberry, C.S. Harris, Anna Campbell & Pamela Clare. These are all my must-buy, keeper-shelf, can-pen-a-hero-to-die-for authors.

For July, I'm keen on the new Jennifer Ashley & Victoria Dahl.

  10. Hey, Barbara! I'm so glad to hear you'll be at the signing! Look for us while you're there. We'll be wearing shirts with our names and logo on it. Also, make a list of the authors you really want to see. Trust me, it'll come in handy. Hope to see you!

  11. I hope it comes to your neck of the woods someday, Armenia. I went to the signing when the conference was in Atlanta in 2006 and it was both overwhelming and a lot of fun!

  12. Jane, I enjoyed Susan Sey's debut. It was really cute!

Thanks, Marisa! I really can't wait. Only a few more weeks! Thanks for the recs--I can't wait to read Lisa's and Jennifer's books!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Maureen, Nora is set up at a table all by herself because the line is so long! I hope you get to meet her one day. :)

Hi, Dawn! Welcome to the blog. I love your avatar! Enjoy your July picks!

  14. gamistress66, I am soooooooo looking forward to finally meeting Anna in person! And the other Banditas that I've yet to meet. Should be fun! I hope you get to meet them one day. :)

Wow. I really wish I could do that. My sister can, but I am such a slow reader! lol

Thanks for your sweet words, Deb. We think our regular posters are pretty wonderful, too! :)

I love this term, Scorpio! It's so appropriate. I hope you get the chance to meet them someday!

  17. I'd love to meet Lisa Kleypas, Julie James, Julia Quinn, Tessa Dare, Sara Lindsey, Judith McNaught (though when is her next book coming out already, lol).

I would add Nora to the list, but I would probably get completely tongue-tied and fangirl, and fear I would embarass myself. Plus, the lines for her would probably be ridiculous. I think I would rather go to one of her signings at her husband's bookstore, Turn the Page.

Great list of I've already read Maya's A Groom of One's Own, and I have Twice Tempted by a Rogue, and Love in the Afternoon on the list.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Sigh. I bet my husband I could survive buying only 3 books a month, digital or print. I might fail this first month with a list like this!

I'd love to meet Nora Roberts, I started reading her with my grandmother and have continued on and just really enjoy her books. And I'd love to truly meet some of the authors who are so active and responsive on FB and Twitter...if they're half as fun in person as they are online, they'd be a blast!

  20. I've already read Robyn Carr's Summer in Sonoma, Tessa Dare's Twice Tempted by a Rogue, Lisa Kleypas's Love in the Afternoon, Julia London's One Season of Sunshine, Susan Mallery's Almost Perfect, and Emilie Richards's Fortunate Harbor and enjoyed them all.

I'm looking forward to another dozen or so from your list, including a paranormal (Christina Dodd's Chains if Ice), a subgenre I rarely read. Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage (Jennifer Ashley), Barely a Lady (Eileen Dreyer), I Kissed an Earl(Julie Anne Long), and The Bikini Car Wash (Pamela Morsi) are probably the ones I'm most eager to read. I'll add the anthology Cupid Cats to the list; anything that includes Connie Brockway is always high on my list.

My list of authors I'd love to meet is way too long to type. Foremost are the ones I count among my friends that I've never met face-to-face.

  21. I just lost my original post... stupid blogger.

I have to say i would love to meet Julia Quinn, Karen Hawkins, Vicki Lewis Thompson, Suzanne Enoch (would love to discuss star wars with her) ect....

Out of July releases i have read too. I've read "Passion Becomes Her" by Shirlee Busbee and the "Cupid Cats" anthology. I have to say i enjoyed the both, but adored the Cupid Cats. Kate McAlister has story in there to die for. Plus it makes fun of twilight which being an anti made me laugh so hard.

For new releases i would love to read there is so many. So many great releases this month. ^^

I feel the same way, Janga. I've met quite a few, but there are still others that I haven't met and so many that I consider friends. I am going to try to see everyone!

  25. Andrea - Brave or foolish, we shall see! It's incentive to use my library more, and work on my patience while I wait for my turn on the library's waiting list. Secretly, I'm also hoping it will force me to focus on my ever-growing TBR pile :)

  30. So many great books!

I would love to meet Christina Dodd, Teresa Medeiros, Tessa Dare, and Jayne Ann Krentz. I love their books.

I've read "The Brazen Bride" by Stephanie Laurens. I like this series of four men traveling to the same place during the same time period via different routes. Plus, many characters from her other series show up to help.

    I'm looking forward to reading:
"Twice Tempted by a Rogue" by Tessa Dare
"My Dangerous Duke" by Gaelen Foley
"Love in the Afternoon" by Lisa Kleypas

Managed to get my hands on the Kleypas, so I'll be reading Beatrix's story tonight. Also really looking forward to I Kissed an Earl (Long), saw some great reviews for this one. And the Jennifer Ashley and Adele Ashworth, Meljean Brook and Cynthia Eden.
