New Releases for September and a Giveaway!

The month of September marks the end of summer and the beginning of fall, though you couldn’t tell by the high temperatures here in the South. We’ve only had a few mornings recently that have contained the slightest hint of crisp, cool autumn air. And even though summer is my favorite season, I am really looking forward to some cooler temps. I’m also looking forward to more reading time since my kids are back in school! What are you looking forward to this fall? Wearing sweaters and jeans? Eating apple pie and sweet potato casserole? Perhaps reading some great books? If so, you’ve come to the right place! Below is a list of books releasing this month. Which September romances have you read? Of those, which ones do you recommend? Which ones are you most looking forward to? Tell us and one lucky person will win a book I picked up from this year’s RWA conference!

Until October, happy reading!

  6. I have read Olivia Drake, in fact I have been waiting for her next offering so glad to see it is coming out in October. I have already gotten Karen Hawkins Much Ado About Marriage for the Kindle and going to get Tawny's Riding the Waves. Once again I see bankruptcy in my future but I don't care, just for fun and I added up all the authors that I already know and love 23! That isn't even counting the ones I want to try. I need another job but then I won't have time to read, sorry son, there is going to be a lot of chicken and hamburger in our diet this month..LOL

  7. So many to choose from! It's a great month for romance. The ones I can't wait to get are Liz Carlyle's newest: One Touch of Scandal--the beginning of her new series!

And Sabrina Jeffries A Hellion in Her Bed--the second book of her Hellions of Halstead Hall series.

Plus Kelly Gaye's second release just hit the stores. Man, it's going to be a good month!

  8. I picked up Teresa Mederios and Karen Hawkins latest, but haven't started either yet. I'm hoping we don't lose power in this storm, since I would love to be able to curl up and read!

  11. I read HOT ISLAND NIGHTS already. Mayberry's writing is always superb, this time around she's tackling a serious topic: post-traumatic stress so I felt the story was not as romantic as some of her past ones.

Looking forward to Maya Banks' new one and I have the new Jen Crusie & Monica Burns ordered already!

  18. As always, thanks for putting this list together every month, Andrea!

I just got my hands on Diane Gaston's Chivalrous Captain, Rebel Mistress, and I'm looking forward to diving in.

For fall, I'm definitely looking forward to the more comfortable temps too. And yes, sweet potato pie! A friend of mine makes an amazing sweet potato pie and I've been constantly bugging her to hook me up. ;)

This is the first fall season when I don't have to go back to school, so this is a bit of an adjustment for me since I've finished my education. I'll just be going to work-welcome to the real world for me! But good luck to your kids, Andrea. Hope they're enjoying the new school year.

  19. Many September releases interest me. Tops on my list are Born to Bite (Sands), Love Me if You Dare (Phillips,) and A Hellion in Her Bed (Jeffries). That last one isn’t on your list, but Amazon has it as a Sept. 21 release. (Sure hope so!)

  22. It's my pleasure, Lisa. :) My mom makes a really great sweet potato casserole, though I'm not a fan of sweet potatoes. Everyone else in the family LOVES it!

Congrats on finishing your education!! My kids are really enjoying the school year so far, thanks. :)

  23. Hi, LSUReader! Yes, Sabrina's upcoming will be released on September 21st. Since it is considered an October release, I'll have it on next month's list. ;-) I hope you enjoy it!

Glad to hear it, Pamela! :)

  24. I’ve already read The Devil Wears Plaid, Burning Up, Finding Perfect, and Body Heat. I’m currently reading Susan Holloway Scott’s The Countess and the King, and I have another dozen September titles either on my TBR shelf or on my TBB list. The one I’m most eager to read is Crusie’s Maybe This Time. It's been a long time since Bet Me. But I can’t find MTT locally. I have to decide if I want to drive into the city and get it more quickly or order it online, which is slower but more convenient. Decisions, decisions!

And, Andrea, please note this month I refrained from mentioning all those September 28 releases--a l-o-n-g list of can't-wait-to-read books--that you count as October and I count as September ('cause I will have read at least some of them before October 1). :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. I've read Body Heat and I'm looking foward to Killer Heat.
It seems that most of the books I'm reading are the last in the series. I guess I have to find some new series to read!

  26. Wow. So many good releases. ^^ I've actually read a few of them. I've read "Last Dragon Standing, Plain Kate, & The Beast Within". The first two mentioned was great. The last... it was more fun to make fun of the book than to read it. Basically i can sum it up as "the rape story, the porno, and the magical vagina".

Looking forward to a lot of the historical's and YA's this month though. ^^

  40. LOL, Artemis. Of course, when I wrote this blog, we actually had a couple of "cooler" days (read: low-mid 80s) and this week we're back up to the 90s. Sigh. Great list!! And I can so relate about the bookshelves: mine are over-overflowing!

  42. What great choices!

    I've read:
"The Viking Takes a Knight" by Sandra Hill has lots of experiments with honey and beeswax as possible contraception (there's more to the book than that though).
"You Only Love Once" by Caroline Linden is a lot of fun with a kickass heroine who is a spy.
Anne of "The Unclaimed Duchess" by Jenna Petersen really should knock some sense into Rhys' fool head but otherwise a good story.

    I want to read:
"Love Me If You Dare" by Carly Phillips as I like Sara Rios from the previous book.
"Clockwork Angel" by Cassandra Clare although I'm looking forward to the book after this one.
"Midnight Crystal" by Jayne Castle because it's the last one in the trilogy and I want to find out what happens when the midnight crystal lights up.
"Primal Instincts" by Susan Sizemore because I like the model on the cover (liked him since Vanessa Kelly's "Sex and the Single Earl").

  49. what can I say, it's like choosing between children! But I have to pick one and that would be "The Queen’s Captive" by Barbara Kyle. See, I read Ms. Kyle back when her original historicals were sold as romances. I knew her books were quality and I hoped she would write more. I repurchsed them when they were renamed and put in trade editions. They are about religious intolerance and the hurtful things that are done in the name of God. While I don't agree with her conclusions, I think her questions are important and something we should have the courage to address. But most important, her books are extremely entertaining! To put it plainly, Ms. Kyle is one great author.
