Today's Special -- Wynter Daniels

We would like to welcome spicy romance author Wynter Daniels to The Romance Dish today! Wynter lives in Central Florida with her husband of more than twenty years and their two nearly grown children. They are all the slaves of two very demanding cats. After careers in marketing and the salon industry, Wynter’s wicked prose begged to be set free. She writes for several publishers including Carina Press, Ellora’s Cave, Loose Id and Red Sage. Join her Facebook fan page HERE and her Yahoo! Group HERE. You can also visit her blog HERE. She loves to hear from readers, but only if it’s good. *wink* Please welcome Wynter as she discusses...

Those Sexy Man Parts

No, I’m not talking about those parts, although my mind easily slips into the gutter, too! I’m thinking of other physical attributes that make a man oh-so-appealing. For each and every spot on a man’s body, there are no doubt, loads of women who find that one part the hottest, most sexy.

Take for example, a man’s hands. What works for me may not necessarily work for you. I like short, neatly trimmed fingernails, mostly smooth skin, with a few calluses (we wouldn’t want our hero’s hands to be too soft. That would make him too soft). A man’s hands say a lot about him—does he work with those hands or does he sit in an office all day. Does he have grease under his nails from tinkering with that sports car he loves?

And what about shoulders? Who can resist a hero with broad shoulders, roped with muscle? For me, it’s a whole lot sexier to know those muscles were earned with hard physical labor than in an air-conditioned, neon decorated gym.

A man’s back gives away much of the same information. I love that sexy V from his shoulders to his waist. And don’t get me started on legs. My man has the best legs I’ve ever seen and living in a warm climate, I’ve seen many a shorts-clad pair!

I’m not much on feet, but I know many women have a thing for them. And hair – well, that merits its own post.

What does it for you? What body parts (aside from the naughty, dangly ones) do you love to have described in glorious detail? Conversely, is there any part that when overly described makes you throw the book at the wall?

I will give one commenter a free download of Protective Custody in the format of your choice.

Protective Custody – Available from Carina Press

Witness to a murder, but no one will believe her...

Shocked by the brutal crime she witnesses through the window of her small office, Megan Jackson calls the police and is devastated when they question the truth of her story. With no body and no evidence of a crime, she’s written off as a nutcase.

Megan suspects the killer saw her face. Terrified, she calls the only person she can trust—her ex-boyfriend and former police officer, Will McCoy.

Despite a devastating breakup, Will jumps at the chance to help the woman who broke his heart. When the killer ramps up the stakes, Will is forced to take her into hiding—where the passion they once shared reignites, deeper and hotter than ever. But can Will keep Megan alive long enough to win back her heart?

  1. You don't hear it described so much in books but I think the sexiest, non dangling part is a man's forearm. You know, sleeves pushed back to the elbow and that nicely muscled forearm exposed?

  2. Hi Wynter

I gotta say that I love a Mans backside LOL and legs don't know why but I always have and I also don't like feet. I gotta say Protective Cusdoy sounds really good.

    Have Fun

  3. Dianna - I've never thought about forearms before!

Helen - I love a nice backside, too. Feet, not so much, either. I've not seen many nice feet on men (and I used to do pedicures for a living!)

  4. Welcome, Wynter! So glad to have you with us today. :)

For me, it's the eyes and a nice backside (as Helen so nicely pointed out!). My husband fits the bill nicely for both. ;-)

  5. Ooooh, Dianna...that's a good one! I like that. But of course, we don't mean Popeye forearms--LOL!

  6. Helen, my husband is a runner, so he has nice legs, but his feet aren't pretty. LOL!

  7. Hi Wynter! Welcome!

Dianna, I'm with you on the forearms. I find them very sexy.

  8. Thanks, Andrea and PJ. Andrea - my husband has amazing legs, too. That's one of his best assets and one that drew me right away!

  9. I'm all about the hands & forearms. Seeing the strength in the muscles of his arms is a huge turn on. I like when a man obviously works with his hands. There is nothing more masculine than big, rough hands.

    Protective Custody sounds awesome Wynter!

  10. Thanks, Stacie. I love big, rough hands, too. Interesting that several people like forearms. I will have to remember that for my next book;-)

  11. I have to admit that I like a man's thighs, his back and his biceps *sigh*....a part I don't need described is his hairy legs or actually any place with excessive hair...lol...Thanks for the contest! Protective Custody sounds good.

  12. Hi, Wynter! It's great to have you here today. I'm originally from central Florida (Leesburg)---don't miss that heat. ;-)

I have to say forearms can be sexy. I'm partial to a nice chest (just enough hair), arms, smile, and bum. Yep, my husband has all of my requirements...and more. *vbg*

  13. Love a nice chest and shoulders. But also gotta love a great backside. But one of the first things that I notice about guys are their eyes and smiles.

  14. Gannon - lucky you! Leesburg, huh. It's 94 here today. Yeah, it's only May and I'm already tired of the heat!

  15. June - I love blue eyes on a guy. Nearly all of my heroes have them;-) Must throw in something else for variety!

  16. Forearms are totally sexy, especially when the guy is playing guitar :) But for me, it's the way a guy looks in a pair of jeans - front and back. My hubby has the butt of a 20 year old and he's 46 :)
Ok, wait, I really am liking abs these days, too. Ah, men - what a great creation!

Oooh, good choice, Stacie! And I agree. *g*

  18. LOL, Maria!! Yes, you're right--we can do without excessive hair!

  19. Gannon, it's times like now that I absolutely DO NOT miss living in Florida! Now, come winter time....

  20. All great choices, June! Personally, I think there is such a thing as too muscular. Some of those bodybuilders are downright gross!

Jed Hill comes to mind.... *vbg*

  22. Robbed of my good senses - LOL - sounds like the whole package;-)

  23. Andrea - just googled Jed Hill! Wow! You can bounce quarters off those abs :)

  24. LOL! Yep, there's a reason he graces so many romance novel covers.... ;-)

  25. GAH! Darn blogger lost my post! Ok where was I? Oh yes, I can honestly say when I was a teen (many years ago) I was a menace! I used to follow guys around the mall making those butt squeezy motions! What was I thinking???

Now I definitely appreciate a nice set of tight abs and a well formed back with broad shoulders. Hmmm now how do I convince hubby to get back to the gym and start lifting, while leaving the beer at home???

  26. OH and yes, today was absolutely ridiculous in Florida. I'm in NE Florida and it was downright oppressive this afternoon! I said as much to my neighbor today and she responded, "yeah, and its only May" UGH!

    ReplyDelete
  27. ANDREA!!!! I just looked up Jed Hill and I am stunned almost absolutely speechless. Holy hotness!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Jennifer - Butt squeezy motions? ROFL!

And curiosity got me so I too Googled Jed Hill. Oh. My. God.

I know, right?? And I love your "Holy hotness!" quote. I'm going to have to remember that one!

Yes!! Have you seen the cover for Jaci Burton's The Perfect Play? Jed Hill = Yummy!

  31. Wynter, thanks so much for being here today! We have had an absolute blast. I wish you all the best with Protective Custody!

  32. Thanks Andrea - it's been fun.

  33. I think it's called the collar bone. If a guy's got a nice chest the collar bone accentuates the neck and shoulders.

  34. Jennifer - I made my husband a deal... I would grow my hair if he would get some abs. I am winning :)
