JAMES
7 Brides for 7 Brothers - Book 6
By Roxanne St. Claire
Publisher: South Street Publishing
Release Date: December 6, 2016

For ruthless billionaire, James Brannigan, life is all business and all about the bottom line. He spends his waking hours - and probably some of his sleeping ones - figuring out ways to increase his financial empire. He isn't interested in marriage, a family, or love and he certainly has no interest in owning a small family-run vineyard and winery in Italy. He can't figure out why his late father - who was just as much a workaholic as James - bequeathed it to him. Good thing James is an expert at selling off companies. He'll fly to Positano, assess the Villa Pietro winery, dump it and be back in New York City before you can say Wall Street. You know what they say about best laid plans...

Kyra Summers is all too familiar with corporate sharks. She grew up with one after all. As soon as she was old enough, Kyra left home and traveled the world, searching for a place to put down roots. She's found it in the hills above Positano, at the Villa Pietro, and with the exuberant and loving Italian family that tends the vineyard and manages the winery. Kyra isn't about to let an unfeeling corporate autocrat take it all away. This charming ray of sunshine is determined to show James Brannigan just what life has to offer outside of his glass and steel, all business life. If she can make him fall in love with the winery then she has a chance of convincing him to keep it. But what's she to do when Mr. "I'm all business" starts to discover his fun-loving, sexy side? The winery won't be the only thing at risk. Kyra's heart will be right there with it.

I have to admit that while reading the earlier books in this series, I found James to be the least appealing of the seven Brannigan brothers. Leave it to Roxanne St. Claire to turn him into my favorite! There's much more to him than I had anticipated. St. Claire slowly peels back the layers to expose the man underneath whose life direction had been unknowingly influenced by a tragedy in his youth and I was with him every step of the way as he opens his heart to the possibilities of a different life. Then she gives him the perfect partner in Kyra, a woman to infuse both his life and his heart with love, light, and fun, all of which have been missing from his life for a very long time. And, for the cherry on this delicious sundae, St. Claire sets her story amid the vivid backdrop of the beautiful Amalfi Coast. If this book doesn't make you yearn for love, laughter, good wine, and a holiday in Italy, I don't know what will!

JAMES is the sixth book in a multi-author series about the seven Brannigan brothers and while James appears briefly in some of the previous books, you do not have to have read them in order to fully enjoy James and Kyra's story.  In fact, all of the books in the series stand well on their own though don't be surprised if, after reading one brother's story, you'll want to read them all!
