WOO HOO! It's finally here! The platters are loaded with delicious goodies, blenders filled with margaritas are whirring and the gorgeous waiters are awaiting your pleasure. The Romance Dish is ready to open for business so let's cut the ribbon and get this party started! (Andrea whispers in PJ's ear) What? But they all know us! (more whispers) Oh. Yes, that's true. We did tell people to bring their friends. I guess it would be a good idea to tell them a little bit about us and how we came to form The Romance Dish. Okay, listen up, everybody! I'm going to tell you a story.
They spent the weekend at M&M brainstorming, (Okay, there was a little partying but it was mostly brainstorming. Honestly!), received encouragement and guidance from many wonderful people at the conference and, by the time they left that Sunday, were well on their way to building the cyber-home we're celebrating today.
(Gannon whispers in PJ's ear) But I'm afraid I'll forget someone! (more whispers) Yes, you're right. We should thank the people who have helped us but there are so many and, besides, people are getting restless. They're thirsty and hungry. They want to party! I don't know if Sean and the other waiters can hold them back! (frantic whispers and lots of hand gestures) Okay! I know it's important! I just don't want a riot at our first party. Not when we've worked so hard to decorate the place. I'll make this short and sweet. Then can we start the party? (Gannon, Andrea and Buffie happily smile and nod in agreement) Honestly, how did I get elected to emcee this gig anyway? Mumble...grumble. Oh. That's right. I volunteered. (PJ steps up to the microphone again.)
Since undertaking this new project, we have been blessed with an enormous amount of encouragement, enthusiasm and much-appreciated guidance from across the romance writing and reading world. We appreciate each and every one of you! Special thanks go to talented authors Anna Campbell and Trish Milburn who will be joining us here at The Romance Dish with monthly blogs. Be sure to mark your calendars for the 10th and 24th of every month. Special thanks go to Kimberly Killion for designing our beautiful banner, avatars, rating stars and much more. Beverley Kendall at The Season has been so generous in promoting our site and will be posting second-hand reviews from The Romance Dish. Special thanks to Barb at Happily Forever After for graciously guiding a fellow blogger she had never met (me) through the steps to create our slide show and re-writing the code to make it fit into our side bar. And last, but never least, many thanks to The Romance Bandits for their support and guidance and to Banditas Trish, Joanie, Nancy and Caren for convincing us in Atlanta that we can do this thing!
Okay, ladies! Let's cut the ribbon and get this party started. It's time to dish!
We're looking forward to a terrific line-up of books, blogs and authors at The Romance Dish this month. What are you looking forward to in November? Leave a comment and you may win one of the many prizes we'll be giving away throughout the day. Every comment is another chance to win!
Hey, does this mean I get the golden waiter? I'd much rather have a golden waiter than a golden rooster! Unless the rooster is basted and barbecued - but they won't let me do that in the lair! Whaaaah!
ReplyDeleteHey, girls I'm SOOOOO excited about this. I've been champing at the bit for the day to come when it was all official and the Romance Dish was at last out of the oven and offering a delicious feast to all your readers!
PJ, Gannon, Buffie and Andrea, you're all looking most gorgeous! Not a bit like you spent the whole month slaving in the kitchen in preparation for our celebrations.
Huge congratulations on taking this step. I think this site is going to become one of the must-see sites for romance fiction. And I can't tell you how delighted I am that I'm going to play a part! Thank you so much for inviting me!
Now, where's my margarita? Let's get this party started!
Wow I'm so excited that you all are finally up and running. Congrats!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the monthly blogs by Anna Campbell and Trish Milburn!!
I cant wait to see all the things you have planned for us!!
This looks to be a happening place and I know it will be part of my daily reads on the net.
ReplyDeleteThe site looks wonderful! Congratulations, ladies. I look forward to reading lots of interesting posts!
ReplyDeleteHi Ladies

I have gotten to know you wonderful Ladies over the years and love your reviews you are always fun to be with huge congrats on the new site.
I am of course looking forward to some great reading this month and the weather is warming up here in Australia just great for lazy days with the air con on and a great book not to mention Tim Tams of course.
Congrats Ladies
have Fun
Helen
Congratulations to all of you on your grand opening!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking most forward to some new releases this month, too, and the time off I have later in the month that will be spent reading, reading, reading.
Good Morning and welcome to the Romance Dish! The Golden Waiter, Anna? Ooh, I do like the sound of that. *vbg*
ReplyDeleteIt's early hours yet here on the east coast of the US so I'm afraid the BBQ isn't quite ready, Anna. Of course, the bartenders are already hard at work (such industrious fellows) so one of our waiters will be more than happy to serve you.
We're thrilled to have you on our team. I'm not going to give away secrets but our readers should know that you have some very special surprises in store for them! :)
Please make yourself comfy. I see other guests I need to greet.
Hi Alicia! Welcome to our new digs. We're delighted you could make it.
ReplyDeleteI think you're going to enjoy Trish and Anna's monthly contributions to our little establishment. We also have some other wonderful authors visiting us in November. Check out the Slide Show in our blog side bar for details.
Thanks for coming to our party. We hope you'll be a regular!
Hi Dianna! So glad to see you here! Did you follow Anna's trail? I hear she's been leaving feathers everywhere so people would be able to find us. I shudder to think what the poor golden rooster must look like by now!
ReplyDeletePlease make yourself comfy and do let one of our waiters know what you would like to eat and drink.
We'll be giving away prizes throughout the day so check back often to see if you've won!
Waaahoooooooo!!!
ReplyDeleteParty at The Dish!! Oh yea, oh yea, party as The Dish, oh yea. **doing my best dance moves**
Anna, I don't know about a golden waiter, but we seem to have a wonderful selection of waiters to choose from. You know, it is a tough job looking for hottie waiters but I told Andrea, PJ, and Gannon that I would suffer through it for the cause. *VBG* I am so glad you are joining us every month and can't wait to read your first review!
Alicia - thanks so much for stopping by today. We are very excited about this month too. Hope to see you around here a lot!
Thanks so much Dianna! I'm glad we can be a part of your reads everyday.
Marcia - It does look good, doesn't it?! LOL! And so do some of the waiters - :)
Helen - I am SOOO happy you are here today. We all think you are something special too!
Kammie - thanks! New releases, huh? Well be sure to stop back by on Wednesday when Andrea has your New Releases blog up. You don't want to miss that!
ENJOY THE PARTY, LADIES!
** off to round up some more hunky waiters **
Thank you, Maria! We're looking forward to your author visit on December 16th. The crowd is still a little light so now is a good time to look around and get familiar with the place.
ReplyDeleteHelen! Welcome to our new home. Isn't it lovely? We've had some help with the decorating so we can't take all the credit but we're so proud of it. Feel free to take a look around and get familiar with the place.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that one of our first guests is one of my favorite Aussies. :) I hope you've brought some of that warm sunshine with you. We can use it here in my cold and rainy neighborhood.
Make yourself at home and please let one of our gorgeous waiters know if you need anything.
Hi Kammie! So glad you could make it to our big debut party. There are some fabulous new books this month, aren't there? Which ones are you most excited about? Oh, and lucky you, getting time off to curl up with those hunky heroes and the heroines who knock them off their feet. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteGood morning and welcome to everyone! I can't believe our big day is finally here. *jumping up to do a happy dance*
ReplyDeleteAnna, dear, we may just have to give that golden waiter idea some thought. I like it! *vbg* Having you with us here at The Dish is going to make it even better than we could have imagined.
Many thanks and hugs and kisses!
I'll just cruise the room to make sure the waiters are taking care of everyone and that they keep your margarita glass filled. It may be the wee hours of the morning here, but as the song says, "it's 5 o'clock somewhere." LOL
Hi, Alicia! We are so happy you came to join the party. Do you have enough to eat and drink? Are our gorgeous waiters anticipating your every need? Just give a wave, and they'll come running. :)
ReplyDeleteTrish and Anna's are definitely going to be a "must see" every month. And we have so many fabulous authors visiting and other fun times ahead. Stay tuned....
Dianna, it's lovely to see you here. Thanks for making us one of your daily stops.
ReplyDeleteMake sure you have plenty of goodies--and check out our gorgeous eye candy--while you're here.
Cheers!
It may be the wee hours of the morning here, but as the song says, "it's 5 o'clock somewhere." LOL
ReplyDeleteIf I had to be awake at 5:00 this morning you better believe I was going to treat myself to one of those delicious margaritas. Besides, I don't remember the song specifying 5 o'clock PM, do you, Gannon? *vbg*
Maria, how nice to see you! With all of this food, drink and chatting, it's a bit like Bunco, don't you think? Except, we never had sexy waiters at our Bunco nights.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, may have to give that some thought. :-D
Helen, one of favorite ladies from Oz! It wouldn't be a party without you here.
ReplyDeleteWe've had loads of help getting The Dish ready to roll. We couldn't have gotten here so quickly without them.
Enjoy the day! *whispers. Did I hear you mention Tim Tams? Do you have any with you? We have to be quiet, you know Tim Tams are so fabulous, they could start a riot if we don't have enough.* LOL
Gannon, sexy waiters are a plus anywhere;)
ReplyDeleteKammie, welcome to the party!
ReplyDeleteAndrea, has a plethora of new releases she'll be sharing with us soon. You will have plenty of new books to add to your reading stack!
Put your feet up and let our attentive waiters--we love 'em!--take care of you!
PJ, now that you mention it, I don't recall the song specifying 5 p.m. either!
ReplyDeleteOh, waiter! My margarita glass is looking a little empty. *vbg*
COngratulations Ladies !!!!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm gonna love this new place ;-)
What books are on my reading list for november ?

ReplyDeleteI know this site is going to take off in a big, mad way. How could an enterprise undertaken by four such lovely, luminous, brilliant and incredibly fun women not?
We won't be strangers and I hope you'll still pop over to see us!
Hi :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your debut!
I'm looking forward to all the great releases this month, and for two movies (2012 and New Moon) and the return of Legend Of The Seeker.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Kimberly! We're pretty proud of the place. The banner you designed for us is gorgeous!

Hi Bev! Glad you found your way to the party. Please come in and get comfortable. We really appreciate all the advance buzz you've given us at The Season.
ReplyDelete*comes dancing in* Wow! The place is already PACKED!

Off to welcome guests....
Emmanuelle, thanks for the congrats. We hope you'll love it here as much as we already do!
ReplyDeleteCaren, come on in and join the fun! With another Bandita in the house, things are gonna get wild and crazy!
ReplyDeleteYou can be sure I'll be dropping by the Lair to say hello. :)
Well, I show up first thing in the morning, and Anna has already snagged the best-looking waiter in the place. Typical!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, ladies! I'm so happy to see you in your new home on the web. The place looks great, and the margaritas taste wonderful. Wishing you many, many years of fun as you read and dish your way through romancelandia.

RK, thanks for joining us! We are looking forward to a great year with many wonderful books and movies.
ReplyDeleteHi, Christie! We hope you'll be a frequent visitor here. We love "dishing" with you Banditas!
ReplyDeleteHi, Kimberly! Doesn't everything look great? Especially the fabulous banner you designed for us!
ReplyDeleteNow, when you say Sean, are you speaking of Sir Sean Connery, of the sexy Scottish brogue or PJ's young Irishman? Personally, I'll take either one...or both. :)
Hi, Bev! Glad you're here for our big bash. Many thanks for the shout-out you've given us over at The Season!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Helen! I wish some of your warm weather would make it's way to me. Did I mention how much I do not like the cold? LOL So glad you'll be joining us every day!
ReplyDeleteWelcome, Kammie! Thanks! And I hear you--reading, reading, reading!
Hi, Emmanuelle! Your list looks a lot like mine! Glad to have you here.

Oops--have to go. Need another drink and to go dance!

ReplyDeleteBuffie, I try to read them al !! And I usually succeed. My TBR pile is not too big. I read about 10 books a month. Sometimes more, sometimes less... something is telling me I'll read more than 10 book in november. Btw I read Bed of Roses yeasterday afternoon/night and it was MAGICAL !!
ReplyDeleteWoo-hoo! A party! I brought the the noise-makers (that would be Xtina and Terri) COngratulations on the site, ladies!

ReplyDeleteWow, Emmanuelle, that's wonderful that you can get through 10 books a month!! I'm a slow reader so I'm doing good to read half that many.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cyndi! Welcome to the party! We're so glad you'll be joining us daily. We have lots of good things lined up!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Constance! Be sure to grap a drink and some yummies from the trays the waiters are passing around. Oh, and don't forget to hit the dance floor. If you want a special song played, I believe Andrea can get the dj to play it.
ReplyDeleteWelcome, Constance! Since you're dragging...um...escorting lovely noisemakers, Terri and Xtina I'm going to guess that you're our very own Ms. Brockway in formal attire? :)
ReplyDeletePJ, Gannon and Andrea, Thanks for the warm welcome !!

ReplyDeleteCongrats all, on the launch of the new site! Everything is sparkly and shiny, and it looks like you had a pretty fun time putting everything together! Can't wait to see what you have in store for us!
ReplyDeleteWHOOOHOOOOO! It's the DISH!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE, love, love the site, ladies and...
Oooh, waiters. Yes, thank you I'll have a margarita. Virgin? No, I'm not..oh, you mean alcohol free. No, alcohol is fine. It's five o'clock in Australia, I'm sure. Grins.
I'm so glad you've come together to do this. We'll miss the M's but hey, you four are going to make them, and us, and the reading world PROUD!!! WOOT!
I know your are just going to rock this thing, and having a couple of rougish Romance Bandits (yes, that would be you two, Anna and Trish!) around will just add spice to The Dish. Grins.
So...Happy, happy and all that...gotta go follow this waiter. He said something about a...
Nevermind. *winks* See you!
CONGRATS TO LYNN!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHey JWZ! Hope you stop by often!
ReplyDeleteHi Bella! Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to check back with us frequently -- we have lots of fun stuff going on!
Duchesse, so glad you finally made it. Have fun with the waiters *wink wink*
Congrats ladies! The site looks great and I'm looking forward frequent visits.
ReplyDeleteBuffie said: Duchesse, so glad you finally made it. Have fun with the waiters *wink wink*
ReplyDeleteOh, never fear....I will! I'm a fun kinda girl.
Snork.
Woohoo, Helen! Congrats on being our first winner!
ReplyDeleteIsabel, thanks for the encouragement on NaNoWriMo. I'm silencing my inner critic/editor and just "vomiting" out the first draft. Like they say, you can always fix what's written, but you can't fix a blank page. :)
Kit, welcome to our party! We're so glad to have you with us.
Yay, Joanie! You know there are always turtles for you. You should have Sean feed them to you. *vbg*
ReplyDeleteOh, Joanie, feel free to check out the Golden Waiter to see if he's golden all over. We already have! LOL
ReplyDeleteEmmanuelle, we'll save you some champagne for later.
ReplyDeleteCatherine, welcome to the party!
ReplyDeleteI can completely relate to the out-of-control TBR pile. And I just keep adding to it. :) So many books, so little time, right?
Monica, you know it's part of our evil plan to add more books to your TBR stash. Mwahahaha!
ReplyDeleteHave something to drink and some chocolate, and you'll forget all about it. Oh, I think I spy a waiter over there who bears a striking resemblance to James Purefoy--he's even dressed a la Mark Anthony in ROME. I do believe he's headed your way, ready to fulfill your every desire. ;)
Whoa! Is it hot in here or is it just me? :-D
Lynn, thanks for stopping by and congrats on being our second winner!
ReplyDeleteConnie, hereafter known as Constance (it does have a certain ring to it), we won't tell your DH about the young hotties. What happens at The Dish, stays at The Dish. *g*
ReplyDeleteHi, Bonnie and welcome! We hope you'll visit often.
ReplyDeleteJWZ1978, thanks for the compliments! We are excited to share our love of romance with plenty of reviews, author visits and surprises. We look forward to seeing you here often.
Hi, Bella! We are very excited about our new digs, and we did have quite a bit of fun creating it. Hope you'll join us on a regular basis. There's plenty more fun around the corner.
ReplyDeleteLike those waiters headed this way! Mmmm Mmmm! *g*
Hello and welcome, JWZ1978! So glad you could join us today. Don't be a stranger!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bella! We have lots in store, so be sure to stick around!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jeanne! We are beyond thrilled with everything! And WAY beyond thrilled to welcome so many great people to the site!
Jeanne's here to Dish!!!! *clinking margarita glasses together* Partay!!
ReplyDeleteYou are one of our favorite Banditas--there are soooo many of you wonderful ladies--and having you here makes our celebration even better.
More hot waiters headed our way, Jeanne! I love our party!! *vbg*
Thank you all for the welcome :) I have to admit, I never miss a party where there is champagne, or books, or well, ok, a party period! Can't wait to add to my massive TBR pile and hope I can keep hiding its size from my husband...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jane! We look forward to your frequent visits!
ReplyDeleteJane, great to have you here! Grab some refreshments and make yourself at home.
ReplyDeleteJWZ1978: Can't wait to add to my massive TBR pile and hope I can keep hiding its size from my husband...
ReplyDeleteOh, can I relate to that! Mine is quickly turning into a TBR mountain! LOL
Andrea -
ReplyDeleteI've noticed one benefit of the Kindle is that I can grow the book pile at a slower rate, and the e-reader pile at a massive rate and no one knows how my list is growing :)
Congrats on your first offical day ladies!! I am so happy to be a part of you new site and can't wait to see what you have instore for us!
ReplyDeleteOh, JWZ, I like the way you think! My tbr stash has it's own room. I really need to get an e-reader.
ReplyDeleteLove the pooch in your avatar! Be sure to stop by on the 9th when I blog about my best fur friends.
Thanks, Meg! We're so happy you've found your way to our new home. Hope you're a frequent visitor!
ReplyDeleteI find that by spreading my books throughout the house (I think, literally, every room has a pile at this point, not counting the bookshelves) that it makes the piles look smaller...the e-reader is just another devious way to support my book addiction
ReplyDeleteDING! DING! DING!
ReplyDeleteIt's time for another giveaway! This time the prize is a signed copy of The Warrior by Sharon Sala and the winner is...
BONNIE FERGUSON!
Congratulations, Bonnie! Please send your snail mail address to theromancedish@gmail.com.
Congrats on the grand opening Ladies! Looks lke a fun place to be. I'll be sure to stop by everyday.
ReplyDeleteI'm most looking forward to Anna's own Captive of Sin, Suzanne Enoch's The Care And Taming Of a Rogue, and Stephanie Laurens' The Untamed Bride.

I think I might just have to go ahead and have me a margarita from one of those yummy waiters!!
I just sent my email. Thanks sooo much!!! (Doing a happy dance)
ReplyDeleteLooks like this is going to be a fun place to visit. Congratulations on being up and running and ready to party.
ReplyDeleteHey Barabra E I like your avatar!!
ReplyDeleteHey Alicia, same here :o)
ReplyDeleteWelcome to four of my fave ladies on the internet! I like to think that you four have gone out in the world carrying the fun and positive spirit of Squawk Radio with you. I wish you the very best with this fabulous new endeavor! I know you'll be bringing your readers a lot of wonderful books and good cheer in the months (and years!) to come :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats Bonnie and Helen! And ladies of the Dish, I love your avatars! They are so sexy and fun!
ReplyDeleteI just sent my email. Thanks sooo much!!! (Doing a happy dance)
ReplyDeleteGot it, Bonnie! Thanks!
Quite a party you have going here! Congrats on your official opening, Andrea, Buffie, Gannon, and PJ (in alphabetical order-lol). I know The Romance Dish will be one of the most fun, interesting sites in the romance community. I look forward to all the great reviews, fabulous guests, and rolicking good times.
ReplyDeleteI'll pass on the alcohol, but may I just sit and look longingly at one of the dark-haired, blue-eyed waiters? I need inspiration for my Nano hero.
Hello-o-o-o, ladies! I am so excited about this new site. I am one who has been mourning the closing of a few blogs lately, so it is wonderful to see the birth of a new one! :-)
ReplyDeleteNow see what happens when I finally buckle down to write the opening scene of my next wip? I'm LATE FOR THE PARTY!!
ReplyDeleteEverything is so bright and sparkly and fun! I'm hugely impressed with your grand adventure and wish you all fantabulous success!!
Oh, and if your gorgeous waiters need any help passing out those margaritas, my Spec Ops guys are standing by, ready to be called in for duty.
Hi, Janga! LOL @ the alphabetical order. We do that a lot too. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHow about a nice sweet tea and some fresh-from-the-oven chocolate chip cookies? Sean, or any of our helpful waiters, will be happy to bring you some and provide all the hero inspiration you need!
*Waving to Barbara E!* Thanks for coming by. We hope you'll be a frequent visitor.
ReplyDeleteCheryl C, great to see you here! Please come back often!
Terri, thank you so much for your kind words. Very appropriate, I think, considering that the four of us first "met" at Squawk Radio. :)
ReplyDeleteWe're very excited about our official Squawk Radio Day on November 18th!
This is a great party! It's really getting crowded. I hope we don't run out of food, drinks, or sexy waiters! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am happy to see so many familiar "faces." Isn't it funny how we all hang out in the BEST places?
Hi JoAnn! Special Ops? Ooooo, we adore Special Ops guys here at the Dish and yours are very dishy indeed!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and for your very lovely words.
Not to worry, Cheryl! I'm turning out lots of goodies in my kitchen and Buffie has lots of hotties...um..I mean...waiters. Yes, that's right. Waiters. Lots of waiters to keep everybody happy.

So you hatched the plot at the Moonlight and Magnolias Conference, huh?
ReplyDeleteWe did, Cheryl! It's a great place for hatching new ideas. You should plan on coming for the M&M book signing next year. It's open to the public and always filled with talented, friendly writers and excited, friendly readers.
Be sure to let us know if you decide to come next year. We'd love to meet you in person!
**fixes dress, pats hair in place, and applies some touch-up makeup**
ReplyDeleteI'm baaaaaaaaack!!!
Sorry for my absence. I had to do some *ahem* training with the new shift of waiters. The "cover model" crew needed a few reminders here and there.
Now, what did I miss . . .
Congrats to Bonnie for winning!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Eloisa! You always brighten up the place when you visit. We're very excited about our Squawk Radio Day on Nov. 18th. I hope you'll be able to pop in frequently and share some tidbits about life in Paris.
