Welcome to September! I hope you all had a safe and enjoyable summer filled with relaxing weekends and good books. Speaking of books, there are some interesting ones heading our way over the next few months with autumn and holiday stories leading the way. I'm excited to share them with you.
First up this month is a review of a heart-tugging contemporary romance from Debbie Mason on Tuesday, September 5. Reunited on Sugar Maple Road is the final book in Mason's Highland Falls series. It's bittersweet to say good-bye to all the characters I've grown to love but Mason sends them off with another emotional story that had me laughing and crying in equal measure.
Nancy returns on Wednesday, September 6 with a review of Where Peace is Lost, a new space fantasy novel by Valerie Valdes. Nancy is excited about this book which she describes as having action-adventure, a good pace, and fresh and imaginative world building.
I've been eagerly anticipating this newest book in Karen Hawkins' Dove Pond series. Join me on Thursday, September 7 for a review of The Secret Recipe of Ella Dove featuring second-chance romance, family dynamics, a fascinating supporting cast, and a touch of magic.
Friday, September 8 brings a review of My Rogue to Ruin by Erica Ridley. This fourth book in Ridley's The Wild Wynchesters can be read as a standalone but will probably have you eager to read all of this family's stories by the time you turn the final page. (Giveaway)
Join me on Tuesday, September 12 for a review of a hopeful, heart-tugging journey of grief, growth, and healing in The Year of Second Chances by Lara Avery.
Be sure to stop by on Wednesday, September 13 when I'll be sharing an excerpt from Sheila Roberts' upcoming holiday novel, The Twelve Months of Christmas, plus an ARC giveaway. Roberts is one of my go-to authors for heartwarming, humorous, closed-door romance.
Join me on Friday, September 15 for a tour review and giveaway of Witch of Wild Things by Raquel Vasquez Gilliland. I'm intrigued by the premise of this second-chance romance with a touch of magic. (Giveaway)
Every Duke Has His Day on Monday, September 18 when I share a review of this newest historical rom-com from Suzanne Enoch. The blurb for this one describes it as "Brain meets Beauty in this sparkling, fresh take on the classic Bringing Up Baby – if Jane Austen had written it! A romantic comedy with a dash of chaos featuring the most ill-behaved poodle in Regency London." Count me in!
It's my birthday! Don't forget to swing by on Wednesday, September 20. There's sure to be a surprise or two. Me turning into a cat probably won't be one of them. 😉
Thursday, September 21 brings a review of The Book Club Hotel, a new women's fiction holiday story by Sarah Morgan. I can always count on Morgan for a deeply emotional and deeply satisfying reading experience.
Santa will be here on Tuesday, September 26 to share her thoughts about The Duke Gets Desperate, the first book in Diana Quincy's Sirens in Silk series. I'm eager to read this new Victorian historical romance series described as "a steamy affair between an Arab-American woman who inherits a run-down castle in the English countryside and the duke who asserts the castle is his." Stop by on Wednesday, September 27 when I shine my Coastal Magic Convention 2024 spotlight on Featured Author Lisa Lin. Lisa's contemporary rom-coms are bubbling over with snappy dialog, heart-tugging romance, hilarious humor, family dynamics, and authentic Asian-American representation. (Giveaway)
Wrapping up the month on Thursday, September 28 will be a tour review (and giveaway) of The Ex-Mas Holidays by Zoe Allison. I'm looking forward to diving into this second-chance contemporary romance set in the Scottish Highlands. (Giveaway)

I am looking forward to cooler weather. It has been hot since June. Enough. I am looking forward to Rosh Hashanah our New Year. I love picking apples and making applesauce, apple cake and enjoying the fun. So many great books to enjoy. Looking forward to reading Flipping Boxcars, After Anne, The Secret Recipe of Ella Dove.

ReplyDeleteI can't wait for Fall to really get here. It is my favorite season and will be much appreciated this year although it is starting with temperatures in the 90's. I want cool weather. I grew up in the middle of apple orchards and always look forward to eat and baking with apples. We try to get back up North in time for apple harvest. Not sure we will make it early enough this year.
ReplyDeleteI am really looking forward to Sheila Roberts' new Christmas book. I discovered her here and have so thoroughly enjoyed her books. I usually look forward to the historical books, but this month you have a nice selection of contemporary books, some by favorite authors. It seems there have been more book about second chances than usual. All of which seem good.
I am looking forward to your birthday. Called my sister today. She has a Sept. 1 birthday.
So many great books! The Witch of Wild Things, I love reading about witches. I have already read the Secret Recipes of Ella Dove and it is a wonderful book. I'm looking forward to cooler weather, it's been sweltering here in Mississippi! Happy early birthday, P. J.

ReplyDeleteI would pick The Witch of Wild Things although so many sound good. This is a birthday month for our family too - my mom's was on the first but we still honor her although it's been 2 years - she was almost 99, my nephew's son on the 2nd turns 11 and my grandson on the 3rd who turns 6.
ReplyDeleteWow, I have made notes about several of the books you have up for this month. Thank you! I am looking forward to autumn. Texas has been a nightmare with all the terrible heat. I want cool mornings, and sunshine that does not melt people as the stand outside. I really think I will love the Sarah Morgan book, the Book Club Hotel. I keep thinking I would love to live on the third floor right down from the elevator - just sounds lovely. Thanks for the list, it is always a wonderful introduction to new books. .

ReplyDeleteWords can't come close to describing how much I am looking forward to cooler weather! College football is also something I'm looking forward to, but first we need Disney (ABC, ESPN, Disney) and Spectrum to resolve their feud so that we can watch ESPN. Spectrum is even blocking streaming of these channels. Luckily there are tons of great books on the horizon!
