Coming Attractions

January is in the wind, February is upon us, and I'm still working on catching up. My knee rehab is going well. In fact, I've graduated from physical therapy sessions - YAY! - and am now working on strength and endurance. The endurance part is slow going - a virus that sapped all my energy didn't help - but I'm determined to reach my goals. Goal number one is to have enough energy to return to my morning walks at the zoo. I miss my furry and feathery friends! In the meantime, books are keeping me company in between walking laps around the pool deck. Here are the titles on the schedule for February.

Launching the month on Wednesday, February 1 is a review of The Three Lives of Alix St. Pierre by Natasha Lester. I thoroughly enjoyed this historical fiction novel set within three time periods during the 1930's - 1940's.

Friday, February 3 brings a review of Love on the Line by Anabelle Bryant. This cross-class historical romance launches Bryant's Vauxhall Voices series.

We're returning to present day on Monday, February 6 with a review of Starting Over On Sunshine Corner by Phoebe Mills. This newest addition to Mills' Sunshine Corner, contemporary romance series offers up a heart-tugging friends-to-lovers romance.

I love debut novels! Swing by Tuesday, February 7 when I share my thoughts about Love and Other Perennial Habits by debut author Emmaline Warden. This historical romance launches Warden's A Genus of Gentlemen series and has me eagerly anticipating more from this new author.

Join me Monday, February 13 for a review (and giveaway) of A Love by Design by Elizabeth Everett, another page-turner in her Secret Scientists of London, historical romance series.

On Friday, February 17, we'll be Falling in Love on Sweetwater Lane. Stop by to read my thoughts about this third book in Belle Calhoun's heart-tugging, small-town, Mistletoe Maine series.

We're diving into intrigue and danger on Tuesday, February 21 with a review of Going Rogue in Red Rye County by Katie Mettner

Wrap up the month of February with us on Tuesday, February 28 when I share my thoughts about Ana Takes Manhattan, an upcoming romcom by Lissette Decos

  5. Well, my entire reading situation has changed. My computer died and every list I had of books I'd read is now gone. So, I now have a book journal - handwritten - which tells me about the books I've read. I have been rereading - the last few months have been filled with lots of ups and downs....actually lots of downs and not many ups. So, rereading Susan Elizabeth Phillips makes me laugh and if I read enough of them, I can pull myself out of a funk. My fav is Nobody's Baby But Mine - makes me laugh a lot.
Before I realized that I needed an infusion of books of laughter, I especially liked Not Quite Over You by Susan Mallery and Nothing But Trouble by Amy Andrews.
I have no idea about books coming this month...so, thanks a bunch for your list of coming attractions. Lots of new to me authors and stories which sound quite good. So, thank you.
I am glad to hear your recovery is proceeding well. That is such good news. Take care and when you get back to the zoo, be sure and tell everyone "hey" from me.

  6. My reading has been very slow in January. My favorite book in January was The Dachsund Wears Prada!. This was a very fun read. I'm still waiting on my library to get the latest Jill Shalvis book. Thanks for the chance to win.

  8. I am glad to hear your recovery is going so well. I hope you can get back to walking at the zoo very soon.
I haven't had much of a chance to read this year. I need to go to UNC in Chapel Hill for medical testing. I will stay with my daughter extending the time I'm there so I can be grandma and nanny for our granddaughter. It will be an unusually busy week for her, and she will be gone for 4 days taking a group of German students and professors to Washington, DC. (She is Director Of Foreign Students at the UNC Law School.) The time when they are at school and work will allow me to get caught up on reviews and maybe even read a bit. My biggest goal is to get my email inbox cleaned out (115,000 emails and growing) before they shut me down again. I am also planning on redoing our password book. We are always so busy at home, I can never find the time to get these things done.
You have another good selection of books you are highlighting this month. As usual all the historicals appeal and Harlequin Intrigues are my favorite books to grab when I have time for a good, quick read. The contemporary books sound good. I look forward to the reviews.

  10. WOW! So many new authors, I’ve only read Belle Calhoun.
I’m off to a leisurely start as I’m babysitting a very active 18 month old grandson 2/3 weeks.
    Favorite books
    Anna Harrington’s A Remarkable Rogue
Sheila Roberts’ The Road To Christmas and Samantha Chase’s Tempt Me.
Yesterday I started a new book by a new to me author, Second Chance Dance, a historical romance by Laney Hatcher. So far I’m enjoying it!
Glad to hear your recovery is getting back on track! Best wishes!

  11. I've had a lot of reading time the past 2 weeks after having foot surgery. I'm making my way through my TBR pile and reading Pippa Grant books. She's great for steamy and fun books that still have lots of emotion. I also read Grace Burrowes' final (? for now?) Lady Violet Mystery.
