Welcome to October! December holidays may be two months away but we have an abundance of books on this month's schedule to amp up your holiday spirit. Here's what's cookin' at The Romance Dish this month.
Wednesday, October 2 brings a review of Deja Brew by Celestine Martin. In this autumn-themed romcom, Martin takes readers back to her witchy Freya Grove (I'm a fan) with a new opposites attract romance.
It's One Big Happy Family (maybe) in Susan Mallery's newest holiday novel. Stop by Thursday, October 3 for my review of this feel-good - but complicated - story that had me smiling from start to finish.
I always look forward to each year's holiday book from Sheila Roberts. I'll be sharing my thoughts about her newest, The Merry Matchmaker, on Friday, October 4.
Miranda Liasson launches a new series with Take Me Home for Christmas. Join me on Monday, October 7 for a review of this heartwarming, small-town romance.
We're revving our engines for Double Apex, a spicy, enemies-to-lovers romance by Josie Juniper set in the world of Formula 1 racing. I can't wait to dive into this one. Stop by Tuesday, October 8 for my review.
RaeAnne Thayne takes readers back to Shelter Springs with another heart-tugging holiday romance. Don't miss my review of The December Market on Wednesday, October 9. Note: This can be read as a standalone but it does tie into - and has continuing characters from - last year's holiday book, Christmas at the Shelter Inn (click to read my review).
Thursday, October 10 brings a tour review of A Highland Family Affair. This third book in Lisa Hobman’s Scottish Highlands series is a heart-tugging journey with plenty of reasons to smile.
Santa joins us on Monday, October 14 to share her thoughts about Love You a Latke by Amanda Elliot. Don't miss her review of this annoying-customer, only-other-Jew-within-100-miles, fake-boyfriend, Hanukkah romance.
It's time for Christmas Sweater Weather! Unless you live in Florida, like me. Then you only wish it was. ;-) Regardless of where you live, don't miss my Tuesday, October 15 review of this new holiday, brother's-best-friend romance by Jaqueline Snowe. Ugly Christmas sweaters optional.
Raquel Vasquez Gilliland is back with book two in her Wild Magic series. Join me on Wednesday, October 16 when I share my thoughts about Lightning in Her Hands.
Stop by Thursday, October 17 for a review of Fall For You by Haleigh Sol. “She’s tough love and grumpy vibes.” “He’s temptation wrapped in a tux.” Sold!
Monday, October 21 brings a tour review of The Wedding Engagement by Zoe Allison. I enjoyed Allison’s last book, The Ex-Mas Holidays, and am looking forward to reading this new one.
We're going back in time - to Jane Austen's time - with a review of Vanessa Kelly's Murder in Highbury. Whether you're an Austen fan or not, you won't want to miss my Tuesday, October 22 review of this first novel in Kelly's charmingly cozy An Emma Knightley Mystery series.
Christmas is All Around when Santa stops by on Wednesday, October 23 with a review of this holiday romcom by Martha Waters.
Don't miss my review of Hero for the Holidays by Maisey Yates on Thursday, October 24. I have a lot to say about this newest book in Yates' Four Corners Ranch series. It just may be my all-time favorite story written by this prolific author.
Rounding out the month on Friday, October 25 is a review of Made for Mistletoe by Nan Reinhardt. A visit to Reinhardt’s River’s Edge is always cause for celebration but a Christmas story adds that extra bit of holiday magic.
What’s on your must do/see/read list this month? Any particular books, movies, television shows? Sports? Holidays? Family events?
For this month I am a big Dodger fan and will be watching the playoffs and hopefully, the World Series for them. My birthday is the end of the month, will also be watching whatever Hallmark movies that grab my interest, and looking forward to tv - Ellsbeth and Matlock. Matlock tease premier was vg and show starts mid Oct. Am hoping to have a few garage sales. Next month my Daughter's bday is on Thanksgiving and our granddaughter's Sweet Sixteen party is mid Nov. So very busy and excited.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to your team and early birthday wishes! I’ve been meaning to watch Elsbeth and am looking forward to checking out Matlock when I get home next week.
DeleteAlmost forgot, I i have a lot to read on my tbr (always) and lots on my wish list including these books you highlighted - the: Mallery, Yates, Liasson, Thayne, Snow and Roberts.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for the October books! I absolutely love Susan Mallory and Sheila Roberts, their Christmas books are always exciting to read!
ReplyDeleteTheir holiday books are always on my buy list. The new one from Mallery is one of my all-time favorites by her.
DeleteUnusual all of the books you mention above sound like ones I would like . I love. Christmas themed stories. Thane, Kelly, Mallery, Yates, Roberts, Liasson and Reinhardt are all must reads for me.
ReplyDeleteI’m following the Milwaukee Brewers fingers crossed they finally return to the World series. Also enjoying football season although it’s been a rough start for the Badgers and the Packers. I’m looking forward to walks viewing fall colors, eating apple pie and a trip to NC to see my son in Cary.
Safe travels, Laurie. My college teams aren’t doing well either. I feel your pain. I’ve read all the books you mentioned and all are good. The Mallery and Yates in particular were exceptional reads for me.
DeleteSo excited for this month, so many good reads. Looking forward to the cooler weather.
ReplyDeleteThis is Shari
DeleteLove you a Latke interests me greatly. So many family events happening this month. Looking forward to all of the holidays which are in October. Celebrations and fun. Watching old school movies and reading classics.
ReplyDeleteI just got Santa’s review of Love You a Latke. She LOVED it!
DeleteMurder in Highbury sounds good. I'm enjoying the new shows High Potential & Matlock. Last night caught up on The Golden Bachelorette - hope she makes a good choice - I think at least one issue with Golden Bachelor was that the couples closeness with their children made settling on a place to live difficult - this could happen again since most of the guys seem close to their kids too (as is the lady).
ReplyDeleteMurder in Highbury was very good. Looking forward to catching up on my shows when I get home. I agree with you on the Golden Bachelor. It’s hard to uproot your life at that age, especially when you’re so close with your children and grandchildren.
DeleteI am a fan of Christmas stories. These books sound like reads I would like. Thanks for the list. Except for the fact I want all of them, I enjoyed the list. I look forward to new episodes of returning shows on TV. And NHL coming back is exciting. And books. As we all know, I am a book addict and all the new Christmas books......OH YEAH!
ReplyDeleteSo many good Christmas books this year!
DeleteLoving all of the Christmas books, especially those from Susan and Sheila.
ReplyDeleteI will be celebrating my birthday on the 8th and my daughter's on the 10th. Looking forward to the new books I will be getting.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to getting together with the kids. It's been several months since we've been able to talk face to face. As far as watching we'll watch Rings of Power now that the finale will air and hope to watch Only Murders in the Building as well. And books? Love You a Latke and Murder in Highbury are high on my wishlist!
ReplyDeleteYou are keeping busy, PJ! I'm going to Dallas in 2 weeks to Buns & Roses. Maisey Yates is the keynote speaker at the tea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful collection of Holiday books. I can't wait to read Sheila Roberts' new one. There are some interesting other books out. We are in the TN - NC damage area from Helene and have been working a Red Cross shelter since Thursday and will be doing so for a while. Not much time for reading.
