The Dishes have been busy lately with end-of-the-year school activities, graduation plans, work, and traveling, so we haven't had as much time to read as we would like (the shame!). So, we would like to know...
Escaped by Carolyn Jessop (non-fiction but riveting)
Matched by Ally Condie (equally riveting)
Just finished:
Delirium by Lauren Oliver 5 stars Secret Desires of a Governess by Tiffany Clare 4 stars, wonderful! Nowhere Near Respectable by Mary Jo Putney 4 stars, lovely! Just Like Heaven by Julia Quinn, 5 stars, best of hers I've read in years! Graveminder by Melissa Marr (4 stars, creepy and riveting! Great start to a series)
And I'm currently listening to "Can You Keep a Secret?" by Sophie Kinsella in my car. I've read the book before; and I really shouldn't listen and drive because I laugh so hard, I'm probably a danger to other drivers! Brilliant, Sophie Kinsella at her finest!
I'm currently reading Tessa Dare's A Lady of Persuasion, and next up is JQ's Just Like Heaven-can't wait to read what she has in store for the Smythe-Smith girls! :)
Ms. Hellion-Can You Keep a Secret is my favorite SK book-absolutely love it!
Chris-enjoy Savor the Moment and Happy Ever After-HEA is my favorite of the whole series!
Lisa, I really enjoyed Tessa's first series. I've yet to read her Stud Club trilogy, but have them in my TBR pile. And I can't wait to read JQ's, too!!!
This has been a l-o-n-g year for me in the reading department because I couldn't seem to finish a book in under 10 days; too tired, too much to do, etc. That blows me away because I used to be able to read a book in a day or so if it was really good. I hope to catch up this summer.
I just finished Kate Noble's Follow My Lead and didn't like it as much as The Summer of You. Julia Quinn's new one about the Smith-Smythe girl is first, Tiffany Clare's book is next, then Anna Campbell's. So, see, I do look forward to reading, reading, reading. I hope, I hope, I hope. :)
Sounds like you Ladies have been very busy have fun I have been reading With a Little Help Valerie Parv Cloudy With A Chance of Marriage Kieran Krammer Just For The Night Tawny Weber School For Brides Cheryl Ann Smith The Prodigal Son Beth Andrews Midnight’s Wild Passion Anna Campbell Coins of Power JA Lesley Harry St Clair: Rogue Doctor? Fiona McArthur At the moment I am reading Hot Boss, Boardroom Mistress Natalie Anderson this one is a fialist in the Aust Rom Writers R*BY Award and very good.
I just finished Karen Hawkins' Scandal in Scotland and starting Terri Garey's Devil Without a Cause. I was sorry the Nikki Styx series ended but you gotta love that ole devil Sammy.
Late, but I started THE MADNESS OF LORD IAN MACKENZIE by Jennifer Ashley. I have wanted to get to it for such a long time. My TBR mountain is just too high. Things have been crazy here too, so I have been been reading many of Debra Webb's Harlequin Intrigues. They are always a good, quick read. I did just finish THE BABY PLANNER by Josie Brown. Not my usual type of book, but I enjoyed it. Good characters and a few surprises in the story. Aimed at the 30 something crowd and a direct hit. If you like contemporary, give it a try.
Hope things settle down for everyone for the summer.
I am reading the latest in Kate Daniel series by Ilona Andrews, "Magic Slays"... Just started it today... Then am going to read "Rage" by Jackie Kessler and after that "Revamped" by J.F. Lewis..
I just finished the last Brotherhood book by J.R. Ward and started Alien in the Family last night.
The Ward book was better than some of the past couple. I actually enjoy the multiple storylines and getting tastes of each character versus 500 pages on one couple particularly when the couple isn't that great.
I'm reading THE LAND OF THE PAINTED CAVES by Jean Auel. (How does she pronounce her name; if anyone knows, please tell me!) It is the sixth, and last of her EARTH'S CHILDREN series. Since I have already read the first five I feel compelled to read this last one, but I might take a break to read Julia Quinn's latest, ALMOST LIKE HEAVEN.
I'm reading The Bride Quartet by Nora Roberts. Such a great series! I'll be starting Book 3 later today. :)
ReplyDeleteI am reading Knight of Pleasure by Margaret Mallory and really enjoying it.
