School’s out and summer is here! I have mixed feelings about the end of the school year—I’m happy that my kids did so well and will go to the next grade, but I’m also sad for the same reason...especially this year as it was my son’s last year of elementary school. It seems like only yesterday that he started Kindergarten there. But I’m sure he’ll do well in middle school. I think I’m more worried than he is! LOL! Anyway, my family and I are looking forward to visiting our nation’s capital this summer and seeing all the memorials and museums there. And of course, I’m looking forward to some summer reading!! Here is my list of New Releases for June! So far, I’ve read Tiffany Clare’s The Secret Desires of a Governess (LOVED it!!) and I’m currently reading Alissa Johnson’s Nearly a Lady and really enjoying it, as well. I am looking forward to Julia Quinn’s latest, Just Like Heaven, along with Elizabeth Boyle’s Lord Langley is Back in Town.
Which June releases have you read? Of those, which ones do you recommend? Which ones are you most looking forward to reading? Tell us and one lucky commenter will win a random book from my prize stash!
Until July, happy reading!

Andrea, the end of the school year is always a bittersweet time for me. I'm sure your son is going to do wonderfully in middle school! Next year my youngest moves up to the High School and she can't wait :-)
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful books to look forward to. I can't wait *g* Between all the reading I want to do and all the summer movies I want to see, I may not have much time for my own writing :-)
Andrea, as always, basically copy and paste your list, that's my TBR list of June releases. I also want to check out Susan Sey's new book.
ReplyDeleteWe're so alike it's scary, huh? ;)
Middle school, huh? You sure you're ready for the teen years, Andrea? Buckle up, lol. But seriously, best of luck to your son next year-I'm sure he'll do beautifully!!

ReplyDeleteI am SO glad to hear this, Dtchycat!!
Deb, it DOES look as if you have some great reading in the coming weeks!! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteJo's Daughter, I need to catch up on Christie Kelly's series. Love her books!
ReplyDeletegamistress, I am the same way--if certain books weren't in hardback, I'd buy them right away, too. So far, there is only one author that I'll buy in hardback--Lisa Kleypas.
ReplyDeleteI need to read a Libba Bray book, throuthehaze. I've heard wonderful things!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Beth. I think he'll do fine. :)

Aww, thanks, Lisa! Your sweet comments always make me smile. :) And nope, nothing scary about us being alike!!
ReplyDeleteOf course you are, Trisha!!
ReplyDeleteI'm tempted by several, too, MsHellion. There seems to be a lot with the word "summer" in the title, which always makes me want to check them out. *g*
ReplyDeleteAndrea, the #2 grand is headed for middle school next year too, and I admit I worry. He's small for his age and shy, and I know how difficult those middle school years can be.

Janga, so you feel my pain! I wouldn't be as worried if some middle schoolers weren't such heathens. My son is tall (just under 5'8"), but I still worry because he wouldn't hurt a fly. I call him my gentle giant. :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your freelance project deadline!!!
Great list, chey! I may have to add VLT's to my list. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLSUReader, having a JQ release at around this time every year makes it one of my favorite times!
ReplyDeleteEllen Connor's book has gotten some great buzz, Stacie. I may have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the new Julia Quinn (I have high hopes for the Smythe-Smith family), then Secret Desires of a Governess by Tiffany Clare as well as Addicted to You by Bethany Kane.

Interesting, I am currently listening to the romance live broadcast with Julia Quinn and Elizabeth Boyle talking about writing and their new books: JUST LIKE HEAVEN and LORD LANGLEY IS BACK IN TOWN. They are two delightful ladies. Funny that these books were favorites of yours. Can't wait to read these books. Need to get to their books on my TBR shelf.
ReplyDeleteAnother great list of new books. No wonder I can't keep up with my TBR mountain.
Just got Kiss of Snow and highly recommend this series! Also plan on getting The Soldier soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading Jean Auel's sixth and final book in the Earth's Children series "The Land of the Painted Caves" (I need to go to Lascaux and see them for myself one day.) But I know I'll have to take some time off somewhere during those 757 pages to read Julia Quinn's "Just Like Heaven" and some of the other great books you have named here!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I haven't read any of these new releases. I love contemps and historicals so I'm going to try and read most of those listed!
ReplyDeleteLove Karen Hawkins and her Scottish Hurst family!
Julia Quinn, Samantha James, Sheryl Woods. Lori Foster,VLT, Linda Lael Miller, Joanna Lindsay, Elizabeth Boyle are must reads for me.
What fun it would be to have those books piled up and I could simply close my eyes, dive right into them and grab one to read. I could keep doing that until they were all read. Of course, I wouldn't want anyone to see me or they would call "the men in the little white coats!" Just kidding!!!

ReplyDeleteWow, thank for the comments, everyone! That's one reason I love to read romance--the variety. We all have different tastes and there is something for everyone!
