To my fellow Americans celebrating Thanksgiving today, I wish you a safe and happy holiday. Whether you're gathering with family, friends, or enjoying quiet times with a good book, like our turkey friend up there, may your day be filled with blessings and joy.

My thanks today include each and every one of you who choose to join me here in my little corner of the internet. You brighten my days with your comments and are the reason I continue to have so much fun doing this fourteen years after opening The Romance Dish doors. Thank you!

Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. To celebrate Christmas, I am going to get my old Signet Christmas paperbacks and read them to give myself joy. Today, I am going to put together a meal and eat and watch Cowboys football and look at old movies. I hope everyone has a joyful and safe Thanksgiving. And I hope the season brings blessing to each of you. Y'all take care and may God Bless each of you.

  2. Happy Thanksgiving! I’m doing a quiet celebration with immediate family and spending the rest of the day reading and knitting. I’m hoping to finish some knitting projects ahead of the holidays to donate for cold weather. I’m looking forward to reading Jana Goes Wild by Farah Heron next.

  3. My son and his family will celebrate with us. Quiet and enjoyable. I prepared their favorite foods. Afterwards I will be relaxing and reading a delightful book, At the Coffee Shop of Curiosities. Happy Thanksgiving!

  4. Our family live far from us so my husband and I will be joining friends in a potluck Friendsgiving. My contributions are a revisit to the 80's with cheesy spinach and onion stuffed mushrooms and, also, Chocolate Decadence (recipe found on Epicurious) complete with raspberry sauce to drizzle and vanilla whipped cream. I am currently reading Knockout by Sarah MacLean, I love this author's books.

  7. My daughter is now hosting but I make the stuffing and help with the meal. My next read is The Queen of Sugar Hill by ReShonda Tate. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

  8. I hope you had a Happy Thankgiving PJ!! We celebrated with my husband's side of the family as usual. Even though it was also his mother's birthday, she insisted on making the Turkey and most of the sides. I have several holiday anthologies lined up but haven't decided which one to start first.

  9. This year it was just the two of us. I think we have enough leftovers to hold us for most of the week. I like to have a whole turkey even if we have to freeze some. It's just fun. We have cornbread stuffing (dressing? I know there is a difference but I never remember what it is), mashed potatoes, English peas, rolls, cranberry sauce, and a fruit salad. I made pumpkin bread to snack on. Who needs dessert?

  10. We had dinner at my daughter's house, then everyone came back to our house for dessert and to play pool. I just finally finished Courting Miss Emma by Linda Broday. We have had too much going on. We are preparing for a long awaited trip to the Christmas Markets in Europe. Two weeks ago our son was diagnosed with terminal cancer and given 1 to 2 months. He is insisting we go on the trip, but we are checking on how long we can wait before canceling it. His birthday is this Saturday. My heart is no longer in the trip.
I have a stack of Christmas books and several new ones on my kindle but haven't found the time or heart to read them.
I hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.

  11. We had a feast in my home. I made turkey, ham, mac and cheese, green bean casserole, corn and cherry torte for dessert. My daughter made a pumpkin pie. My sister made stuffing and yeast rolls. We had a great time together. I have a stack of Christmas books that I started reading. Hope you are enjoying the Thanksgiving weekend.
