New Releases for June

School’s out and summer is here! I have mixed feelings about the end of the school year—I’m happy that my kids did so well and will go to the next grade, but I’m also sad for the same reason...especially this year as it was my son’s last year of elementary school. It seems like only yesterday that he started Kindergarten there. But I’m sure he’ll do well in middle school. I think I’m more worried than he is! LOL! Anyway, my family and I are looking forward to visiting our nation’s capital this summer and seeing all the memorials and museums there. And of course, I’m looking forward to some summer reading!! Here is my list of New Releases for June! So far, I’ve read Tiffany Clare’s The Secret Desires of a Governess (LOVED it!!) and I’m currently reading Alissa Johnson’s Nearly a Lady and really enjoying it, as well. I am looking forward to Julia Quinn’s latest, Just Like Heaven, along with Elizabeth Boyle’s Lord Langley is Back in Town.

Which June releases have you read? Of those, which ones do you recommend? Which ones are you most looking forward to reading? Tell us and one lucky commenter will win a random book from my prize stash!

Until July, happy reading!

  6. I just went to my little indie bookstore yesterday and the owner, who knows my reading tastes well, had several of these waiting for me. Of course JQ was on top of the pile! She said that the "old" JQ is back and Just Like Heaven is a great read!

I've also got Tiffany Clare's, Elizabeth Boyle's, and Karen Hawkins' books on my new TBR stash! Some good/great reading in the next week, huh?!!

  10. Andrea, the end of the school year is always a bittersweet time for me. I'm sure your son is going to do wonderfully in middle school! Next year my youngest moves up to the High School and she can't wait :-)

So many wonderful books to look forward to. I can't wait *g* Between all the reading I want to do and all the summer movies I want to see, I may not have much time for my own writing :-)

  11. Andrea, as always, basically copy and paste your list, that's my TBR list of June releases. I also want to check out Susan Sey's new book.

    We're so alike it's scary, huh? ;)

Middle school, huh? You sure you're ready for the teen years, Andrea? Buckle up, lol. But seriously, best of luck to your son next year-I'm sure he'll do beautifully!!

  30. Janga, so you feel my pain! I wouldn't be as worried if some middle schoolers weren't such heathens. My son is tall (just under 5'8"), but I still worry because he wouldn't hurt a fly. I call him my gentle giant. :)

Good luck with your freelance project deadline!!!

  40. Interesting, I am currently listening to the romance live broadcast with Julia Quinn and Elizabeth Boyle talking about writing and their new books: JUST LIKE HEAVEN and LORD LANGLEY IS BACK IN TOWN. They are two delightful ladies. Funny that these books were favorites of yours. Can't wait to read these books. Need to get to their books on my TBR shelf.

Another great list of new books. No wonder I can't keep up with my TBR mountain.

  42. I'm reading Jean Auel's sixth and final book in the Earth's Children series "The Land of the Painted Caves" (I need to go to Lascaux and see them for myself one day.) But I know I'll have to take some time off somewhere during those 757 pages to read Julia Quinn's "Just Like Heaven" and some of the other great books you have named here!

    ReplyDelete

  44. What fun it would be to have those books piled up and I could simply close my eyes, dive right into them and grab one to read. I could keep doing that until they were all read. Of course, I wouldn't want anyone to see me or they would call "the men in the little white coats!" Just kidding!!!
