Coming Attractions - - July 2024

Happy July! We've reached the halfway point of 2024. How did that happen?!? I hope part one has been good for each of you and that you've discovered some great books along the way. I'm working on a post about my first-half favorites. I hope to have it ready to post this month but it may not be until August. I'll add it to the Coming Attractions post - for the appropriate month - once it's finalized. You'll notice the schedule this month is a bit light. That's because I'm heading across the pond again. This time, it's for a cruise with longtime friends. I haven't been on one of those in a very long time (we're talking 30 years) so if any of you are cruise veterans, please feel free to offer up your best tips in the comments. I hope you'll rejoin me when I return in August. I have some great new books already on the schedule. But, for now, here's what's happening in July.

We're heading overseas on Tuesday, July 2 with a review and giveaway of Big in Sweden by Sally Franson. This laugh-out-loud, emotionally layered, women's fiction novel entertained and had me wanting to book a return trip to Stockholm.

Wednesday, July 3 brings a review of Treasure Coast Revival, the fourth installment in Leigh Duncan's heartwarming Emerald Bay women's fiction series.

Monday, July 8 brings a review and giveaway of The Keeper of Main Street by Trisha R. Thomas. This tale of scandal and murder takes readers back to1950s Oklahoma and a quaint town of oil barons, pampered wives, and a Black dressmaker with the gift of "second sight."

Join me on Tuesday, July 9 for a tour review of Until Next Summer, a women's fiction novel - with romantic elements - by Ali Brady. This adult summer camp story brings lots of laughter, nostalgia, friendship, and heart to the page.

Wednesday, July 10 brings a new review from Hellie. Stop by to read her thoughts on One-Star Romance by Laura Hankin. It's complicated.

On Thursday, July 11, I'll be sharing my thoughts about The Inn on Amelia Island by Hope Holloway. This final book in Holloway's Seven Sisters series brings all the feelings.

Stop by on Friday, July 12 for my first Coastal Magic Convention 2025 Featured Author Spotlight. This month brings a guest post from author Caridad Pineiro. Caridad's newest book release is Escape the Everglades, book two in her South Beach Security: K-9 Division series for Harlequin Intrigue.

Stop by Monday, July 15 for a review of The Ghost of Loon Lake by Rachelle Paige Campbell. This small-town, second-chance romance (with a lighthouse!) launches Campbell's The Shores of Loon Lake series.

Santa joins us on Tuesday, July 16 with a review of Viscount in Love by Eloisa James. Don't miss Santa's review of this first book in James' new Accidental Brides historical romance series.

Following the review on July 16, the blog will be on vacation for a couple weeks as I head overseas (for real). But, never fear, I'll be back the beginning of August with another month of new books and giveaways.

Late addition: Join us on Monday, July 29 with Nancy's review of Primal Mirror by Nalini Singh. Stop by to read what she has to say about this eighth book in Singh's Psy-Changeling Trinity series.

What's on your calendar for July?

What are you currently reading?

One randomly chosen person who posts a comment before 11:00 PM, July 3 will receive a hard cover copy of one of my 2024 5-star reads, People in Glass Houses by Jayne Ann Krentz writing as Jayne Castle. (read my review here)

  1. Celebrating birthdays - 4 this month. I'm just finishing up Ruth Ware's One Perfect Couple which I really recommend. Trisha Tohmases book caught my eye - she would be a new author but it sounds intriguing.

  2. I think I will be on my knees praying that I sell my house in order to be able to buy another. I also will be celebrating the 4th. It always makes me cry when I consider what people went through in order for us to be able to eat hot dogs and potato salad and watch a parade. We came from brave and strong people. Aren't we lucky?

  4. I am reading The Phoenix Ballroom by Ruth Hogan which is captivating. I hope that I can escape this heat and go to the beach in July. That would be wonderful and is way overdue.

  7. First off, enjoy your trip overseas. Our plans are to stay at home and continue working on the house and yard. Not easy with the weather we are having. I just finished Last Bus To Wisdom by Ivan Doig (a most enjoyable book) and am about half way through A Chain Of Pearls by Raemi A. Ray, which I am enjoying. You have a great line-up of books for this month. I am hoping I can make Coastal Magic this year. We are overdue a visit with friends and relatives in Florida.

  8. Have a wonderful trip! My daughter in-law's parents just got back from a cruise to various ports in Italy and Greece and had an amazing time. I'm currently reading Meghan Quinn's So This Means War. In a couple weeks (barring anything else happening that delays us) we will be heading up to Teton Valley Idaho where even when it gets hot during the day, it actually cools down at night!
