Coming Attractions

I'm not quite sure how it happened but the final month of 2019 is upon us. After being gone for almost the entire month of November, I've decided to kick back, not worry about schedules, and immerse myself in the beauty and joy of the upcoming holidays. That means scheduled events will be sparse at the Dish this month...but surprises will pop up when you least expect it! So check in each day to see what's happening and get ready for reviews, travel posts, a few holiday blog tours, and lots of fun giveaways.

Let's celebrate December!

What are you looking forward to this month?

Are you fully organized for the coming holidays or do you go with the flow?

One person who comments before 11:00 PM, December 3 will receive a print copy of RESTLESS RANCHER by Jennifer Ryan.

  1. I've learned sometimes it is best to mostly go with the flow. There's no way to avoid some organization, but overall I'll get things done when I can.

  2. Our work started "giving" us the time between Christmas and New Year's as "bonus" administrative paid days, instead of forcing us to use vacation time if we want that time off. Now we all have the time off. It's BRILLIANT. So I'm looking forward to the time off because with the weekends and how Christmas is set this year--and the extra days I plan to take--I'm going to be off work for HALF of December. That's crazy to me. *LOL*

I cannot believe it's almost 2020. HOLY COW. My dad always said times flies when you get to a certain age, but I always thought he was trying to be annoying (I was 10 at the time.) Now I realize he was just right and I still haven't gotten my to-do list done. Which admittedly I just ignore and read a bunch of books and will probably continue to do. *LOL*

I am behind on any Christmas stuff where family is concerned. At work, I have an advent calendar I make my coworker do with me--and that's complete. *LOL* Except for the Gingerbread cookie house which I need to bake (and if it goes wrong, buy a box kit, which I should have done in the FIRST PLACE but since I've gone to the trouble for cutters, I'm trying the homemade first.)

  3. I just go with the flow. When I was younger, so much was planned. The only thing that is planned is me making lasagna. That's it.

  6. Since I retired I've also learned to go with the flow. Besides, life is too short to live by a schedule.

  7. I am a go with the flow type of person, more out of necessity than anything else. We get last minute calls to respond to emergencies and have many veteran related events. I am trying to work on preparations for decorating the house and having company.
I am looking forward to our oldest daughter and her family coming home for the holidays. She is in law school just far enough away to make visiting difficult. This is year three and she is busy with exams and preparing the application for her bar exam. Our other children and their families live nearby and it will nice having everyone together for Christmas dinner and a few days of just visiting.

  10. After 40 years of shopping, planning and cooking for my whole family I've finally decided to go with the flow and enjoy dinner at one of my children's homes this year and shopped online. So hopefully a more relaxed holiday season.

  12. I usually go with the flow. But doing things earlier than normal. Tree up and Sugar Cookies made with my granddaughter (annual thing). Dates made to get together with friends and most inside decorations out. Need to put my Christmas decorative steaks outside. And starting baking for my little treats to friends and my library who gets me so many good books to read.

  13. We're spending several weeks with my daughter's family which includes my 4 adorable grandchildren. I'm enjoying the decorations, the anticipation as they wait St Nick and Santa. I love seeing Christmas magic through the eyes of a child!. I'm going with the flow. I have a few presents bought and wrapped, a few decorations out. I take the holidays day by day.
