Make Your Reservations!

It's time again to mark your calendars and Make Your Reservations for August! It's another great month for summer reading! Here are some of the great books we are looking forward to next month. Are any of these upcoming books on your list? If so, which ones? If not, which books are on your list?

Dream Lake
By Lisa Kleypas

Dream Lake takes readers once again to the exquisite setting of Friday Harbor, and tells the story of Zoe Hoffman, an innkeeper who has all but given up on love. She’s a gentle, romantic soul, but has been so hurt in the past that she dare not trust her heart with anyone. Especially not Alex Nolan. Alex is the most haunted of all the Nolan brothers. He drinks to keep his demons at bay and not only has he given up on love, he has never, ever believed in it. Zoe and Alex are oil and water, fire and ice, sunshine and shadow. But sometimes, it takes only a glimmer of light to chase away the dark. Dream Lake is classic Lisa Kleypas: romantic, powerful, emotional, and magical.

An imposing yet impoverished Scots nobleman, Lord Logan McKinney knows he must wed some vapid title-hunter with a substantial dowry in order to restore his once-thriving estate. How to Romance a Rake

Can't Hurry Love
By Molly O'Keefe

All that stands in her way is Eli Turnbull, a rugged, too-handsome cowboy who wants the land just as badly.

If Victoria wants a fight, Eli will give her one. He’s devoted his life to Crooked Creek, and he’s not about to let some pampered city girl—even one as brave and beautiful as Victoria—turn it into some silly spa. And soon they each realize that the person standing in their way is the one they can never do without.

Deception
By Kris Kennedy

A dashing con man

Breaking and entering to reclaim her corrupt late father’s ledger comes surprisingly easily to Sophia Darnly. But is it mere coincidence that her misdeed unexpectedly reunites her with Kier, the outlaw lover who abandoned her years ago?

A lady skilled in trickery

Time has not erased Sophia from Kier’s heart, nor tamed her fiery spirit. She boldly insinuates herself into his plans. But Kier is on a mission of revenge, and can’t allow even the woman he once loved to stop him.

A game that could get them both killed

The danger mounts as they lure the leader of a powerful consortium who needs the fabled Darnly ledger—and all its damning details about the wealthiest merchants of England— to execute his nefarious plan. Their rekindled passion burns hot, but when they discover they too are the targets of a deadly deception, the fate of their love, and of England itself, lies in the balance.

Sweet Deception
By Heather Snow

Lord Frederick Aveline, otherwise known as Derick, has successfully kept up appearances as an English nobleman. What no one knows is that he’s a full-blooded Frenchman—a double-agent for the British against the French. But there is something else no one knows about Derick. Deciding to leave behind his days of espionage, he’s arrived home in Derbyshire to finish one final order of business: to find and expose a dangerous traitor in the midst.

But Aveline castle holds its own share of secrets—including murder, and an unexpected lure in Emma Wallingford. Brilliant and feisty, her loyalty lies with acting as the town’s magistrate, and she doesn’t welcome an unanticipated, though appealing, intrusion like Derick. As the two of them are drawn closer, the sordid past of Derick’s family comes to light, as does the true nature of his arrival. But when deception, however sweet, is the name of the game no one can be trusted, and every love—and every life—is at risk.

Plus, her Wilder series is being reissued back-to-back-to-back in October, November, and December! Lots of great books from Jill!

  6. Bring on August, Andrea! LOL It seems as if every month is filled with treaure for romance readers.

I've read and loved How to Romance a Rake, and I'm so-o-o looking forward to Dream Lake. It's been too long since I read a Kris Kennedy book, and I love Molly O'Keefe. The Snow and Shalvis are on my list too, as well as books by Beth Andrews, Janice Kay Johnson, and Sarah Mayberry. I'm also looking forward to the first Isabella Bradford book. I loved Susan Fraser Scott's historical fiction, but I'm happy she's giving us more romances--even if they are written under a new name. :)

And, Lisa, I've read those August 28 releases--all three of them--and they are worth waiting for. In fact, I plan to buy print copies and read them all again.
