New Releases for July

This time of year means “summer reading” to a lot of us. In fact, I seem to do a good bit of my yearly reading during the lazy days of summer. There is no better way to be lazy than by lounging on the couch immersed in a great romance. Actually, I can be lounging just about anywhere with a book and be happy…except for one place. I prefer not to read while at the pool. Sound crazy? Maybe, but I have my reasons. First, if I’m at the pool, that usually means my kids are with me…and I don’t take my eyes off them. I don’t care how many lifeguards are on duty. Overprotective? Yes. I’m fine with that; it beats the alternative. The other reason is because I wear glasses and, frankly, I don’t like to sweat with them on. So, no reading at the pool for this gal. Where is your favorite place to read during the summer?

Here are this month’s new releases! So far, I’ve read Starlight by Carrie Lofty and Thief of Shadows by Elizabeth Hoyt. Both are excellent historical romances that I highly recommend. I’m currently reading At Last by Jill Shalvis and absolutely loving it! I’m looking forward to picking up Christina Brooke’s latest, too. J

Which July releases have you read? Of those, which ones do you recommend? Which ones are you most looking forward to reading? Tell us and one lucky commenter will win a random book from my prize stash!

Until August, happy reading!

  3. Hi, Andrea & PJ--

I'm on a tight deadline and so haven't read anything new, but I have Virginia Kantra's Carolina Home and Jessica Andersen's Bear Claw Lawman, and Robin Perini's Cowboy in the Crossfire waiting for pickup. I'm leaning toward trying Alexis Morgan's Lady Mage, too. Anybody read it yet?

  5. Unfortunately, I’m not reading much in July. I actually blogged on that subject today. :) But before the deadline disaster, I had read How to Be a Proper Lady – Katharine Ashe, Scandal Wears Satin – Loretta Chase, Thief of Shadows – Elizabeth Hoyt, Ravishing the Heiress – Sherry Thomas, Summer Nights – Susan Mallery, Can’t Buy Me Love – Molly O’Keefe, and Midnight Promises – Sherryl Woods plus Eileen Dreyer's new e-only short "It Begins with a Kiss" and the anthology Royal Bridesmaids.

I haven't read these, but they are on my ereader or my TBR shelf waiting for me: A Duchess to Remember – Christina Brooke, Starlight – Carrie Lofty, Willow Springs – Toni Blake, The Way Back Home – Barbara Freethy, Carolina Home – Virginia Kantra, Moonshell Beach – JoAnn Ross, At Last – Jill Shalvis, and First Do No Evil – Carey Baldwin.

And on my TBB list are Ocean Beach – Wendy Wax, Dark Destiny – M.J. Putney, and The Great Escape – Susan Elizabeth Phillips, and Roxanne St. Claire's YA Don't You Wish.

I hope to get to all the books in these last two groups before July 31, when more than a dozen new releases are on my list.

  9. I have several books by Sherry Thomas just waiting to be read and shame on me, I haven't read anything of hers yet. From what I'm hearing, I missing a lot. I guess instead of looking forward to adding more books to my evergrowing TBR heap, I should start reading what I already have!

  13. Hey Dishers!

I just read Kiss The Girl by Susan Sey, which was terrific. I'm really REAAAALLY hoping I get time to read another book this weekend. I've got Donna MacMeans Casanova Code and Christina Brooke's Duchess to Remember both on my Kindle. But that Great Escape book by SEP looks interesting. I didn't know she had a new one out. I probably need to check that out. Is this one of the sports hero books?
