It's Midnight and I'm just now starting to slow down. I've nabbed a comfy chair in the lobby (no internet in our room), have my shoes off and feet propped up on a cushy ottoman. I'm sharing this cozy corner with a Harlequin Kimani author but I don't think he minds the airing out of the feet as he's barefoot too! :)

Jude Deveraux & PJ |
The Literacy Signing was a huge success. We won't hear the amount of money raised for a while but the lines were long and people were buying lots of books. I had a blast visiting all the tables, buying books and snapping photos of authors. Just as the signing was starting, one of my friends mentioned that Jude Deveraux was there. Jude-freakin'- Deveraux! I headed straight for her table. I've been reading her books forever.
A Knight in Shining Armor and
Sweet Liar are on my all-time favorites list. She was an absolute doll. Signed a copy of True Love for me. I think I managed to speak coherently to her... but just barely. I mean, she is, after all, Jude Deveraux!
I had a chance to chat with Heather Snow at the Literacy Signing. She's such a sweet lady and writes awesome historical romances with smart heroines. Love her heroines! Her book,
Sweet Madness, is one of my favorite books of 2013. I may have mentioned that before but it bears repeating.

That's it for today. Tomorrow's schedule is packed so I probably won't have a chance to post until late. My camera is charged and ready to go so, hopefully I'll have lots more pictures to share!
Are you a Jude Deveraux fan? Tell me about your favorite Deveraux book and why you like it. I have a signed hardcover copy of True Love for one randomly chosen person who leaves a comment! (U.S. addresses only please)

I loved Jude's historicals. My favorite was "The Raider."
ReplyDeleteI have read many of her books and enjoyed them all. I would have to dig through the shelved books to see what I have read and which I liked best.
ReplyDeleteI have had A KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR on my shelf for years. I know it is special and have been waiting for just the right time to read it. I think it is time to stop waiting. I have always heard such good things about it and it is just the type of storyline I enjoy.
I too think Knight in Shining Armour was one of my first books and I have loved them all since.
ReplyDeleteHi PJ
ReplyDeleteLoving these pics :) I am very very fond of Jude Deveraux's Velevet series my Mum and I read them many years ago and I still have the copies
Have Fun
Helen
An Angel for Emily - gave me the warm and fuzzies. It is on my keeper shelf.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, PJ! I would have babbled like a loon if I had met Jude Deveraux. A Knight in Shining Armor is one of my all time favorites!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Black Lyon was my favorite book. It was the I began with and who couldn't fall for a handsome protector who is willing to do anything to win you and keep your safe!

My favorite book is TWIN OF ICE. I like how Kane melts Houston's ladylike exterior. He allows her to break out of her prim role and have fun. Twin switching, twin rivalry, humor this book has them all. I like Houston so much better than her twin Blair. I like Kane better than stuffy Leander too.
ReplyDeleteI would love to read TRUE LOVE!
My favorite book is Return to Summerhouse. Delightful and special. Thanks and love the photos.
ReplyDeleteThe Mulberry Tree is my ultimate favorite which I savored. True Love would be a treasure. many thanks.
ReplyDeleteI love them all, but True Love really touched me a great deal. I love the Velvet series too. Great picture of Sabrina she is one of the ones I wanted to meet if I had got to go.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos, PJ! I especially love seeing some of my favorite people. :)
ReplyDeletePJ and Andrea, thank you so much for sharing about your experience! Oooh, what fun!! I have never read a JD book. Gasp, I know.....
ReplyDeleteThere's Terri!! Yay!!
ReplyDeleteI loved Sweet Liar. It's still my favorite. Her newest seems like it might be kinda similar and makes me wanna check it out.
I am loving all the pictures!! Sorry, to say I haven't seemed to have read her yet - I know!! I just can't keep up it seems lol.
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot in common, PJ, including the fact that AKISA and SWEET LIAR are among my favorite Jude Deveraux books.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. With how busy the authors must be, it's nice that they take the time to pose.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favorite Deveraux book yet! Maybe it will be your copy of True Love!
ReplyDeleteAloha, PJ! Great pics ... I am living vicariously through social media on the scene! My favorite JD book is the first I read - KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR. In fact, I went in search of the church in England where the heroine meets the hero for the first time!
ReplyDeleteI have only read a couple of her books and really enjoyed them. I can't remember the names of the right now. I know this is sad but when you read a lot its hard to remember the names of the books.
ReplyDeleteThank you PJ and Andrea for posting and sharing RWA pictures, it's fun following the events via your postings. Sadly, I don't have a JD favourite yet either.
ReplyDeleteA Knight In Shining Armor is my all time favorite. It was the first book of hers I read. I haven't read a bad JD book yet and look forward to True Love
ReplyDeleteI love A Knight in Shining Armor! I like the time travel aspect and especially loved Dougless and Nicholas. And the ending made me cry. So sweet!
