My Fair Lover by Nicole Jordan, part of her Legendary Lovers series, is a very, very enjoyable book. I loved it from the first page to the last. Who doesn’t love a heroine dressed in livery about to ask the rogue of her dreams, who rejected her a few years ago, to help her. I can honestly say that from that point I knew it was going to be a five star book.
Lady Katherine Wilde needs Brandon Deverill’s help and it just so happens he needs her help as well but for very different reasons. At their last meeting, Brandon was on his way back to America to help his father's shipping concerns when tensions between England and America built towards war. Kate sees him as no more than a pirate. He has since returned upon inheriting his great Uncle’s barony. And so Brandon now finds himself in need of a wife and a little town bronze. An unrepentant matchmaker, Kate is the perfect person to for the job.
Kate needs a favor in return. Once she has helped him secure his potential wife, she needs him to take her across the channel into France to help put to rest her parents, aunt and uncle. They died tragically when she was a little girl. Their ship went down when they had been returning to England. Her mother managed to get a ashore but died shortly afterwards, the others perishing at sea. This is Kate’s oppurtunity to give them all proper burials.
Brandon agrees to have Kate help him and even concurs to take her to France without the rest of her family finding out. Settling on a wife should be no problem as he has Kate in mind whether she knows it or not. The problem is will she settle for mutual attraction over a once in a lifetime love? And therein lies one of many challenges in their adventures together.
If you are in the mood for a romance filled with adventure and intrigue, this one is for you. And the happily ever after which includes the many facets of the Wilde family will keep you smiling.
Enjoy!
