New Releases for April!

I am so glad April is finally here! I love April for so many reasons: Easter is this Sunday, my kids’ Spring Break is next week, it is Autism Awareness Month, my grandfather celebrates his 90th birthday (and we’re giving him a surprise party!), and most of all, my darling daughter’s birthday is this month. Of course, along with all that, it’s another month of wonderful new releases!! Which April releases have you read? Of those, which ones do you recommend? Which ones are you most looking forward to? Tell us and one lucky poster will win a random April release!

Until May, happy reading!

  1. I'm really looking forward to Barbara Freethy's "On Shadow Beach," Lorie O'Clare's "Strong, Sleek and Sinful" and Heather Graham's "The Killing Edge." I've also been hearing a lot about Sarah MacLean's historical debut. I've already read Christy Reece's "Second Chance," which I loved.

  3. Aaaaah, so many wonderful books and I really can't afford reading just about anything at the moment! My final exams are in one month and I can hardly concentrate on something else (although I'm not learning as hard yet as I should, but my thoughts are always there...)! I'll have to do a lotta reading once I'm finished!

  4. Lots to look forward to. High on my list are the books by Kelley Armstrong, Carolyn Crane, Karen Robards, Heather Graham and Gwyn Cready. Have a great weekend, everyone.

  5. None of my regular favorite authors have release this month but based on reviews/previews I am most interested in:

    Christy Reece's, Second Chance
    Juliana Stone's, His Darkest Hunger
    Carolyn Crane's, Mind Games

  6. Thanks, Andrea! So many great books, so very little time. ;-)

I've had the opportunity to read a few of them already. I recommend THE SECRET DUKE, SOMETHING SCANDALOUS, LORD OF THE ISLES, THE SUMMER OF YOU and HIS DARKEST HUNGER.

Janga will be here Tuesday with a guest review of THE SECRET DUKE and my review of SOMETHING SCANDALOUS will be posted here tomorrow. I reviewed LORD OF THE ISLES here on March 25th and Gannon and I reviewed HIS DARKEST HUNGER in our monthly "girlfriends" column at RBTB, also on March 25th. http://romancebuythebook.com/

Books I'm eagerly anticipating this month are:

    DESIRES OF A PERFECT LADY
NINE RULES TO BREAK WHEN ROMANCING A RAKE
    THE CHIEF
    ON SHADOW BEACH
    LOIS LANE TELLS ALL
    HOME IN CAROLINA
    THE TRUE LOVE QUILTING CLUB

  7. Jane, I'm really enjoying Freethy's new series. I love small town stories. Have you tried Toni Blake's ONE RECKLESS SUMMER? It has a wonderful small-town feel. The next book in her series, SUGAR CREEK, will be release May 25th.

  8. Maureen, I thought THE SUMMER OF YOU was wonderful and I can't wait to dive into NINE RULES TO BREAK WHEN ROMANCING A RAKE. Buffie gave it 5 stars!!

    Good luck!

  10. LSUReader, hope you have a good weekend too. I should take a look at the Karen Robards book. I used to read her all the time.

  11. Scorpio, I've never read Reece or Crane but I read Juliana Stone's debut, HIS DARKEST HUNGER and *loved* it. I was sent an e-ARC of the book for review. I normally don't read e-books on the computer because I get blurred vision and headaches. I read HIS DARKEST HUNGER in one sitting...the entire book. Who cares about blurry vision and headaches. She grabbed me so quickly and so thoroughly that I could not force myself to stop reading. Now I'm counting the days until the release of the next book in this series!

  12. First time here -- my goodness, you have so many great titles for me to peruse! I'm in heaven. Currently reading a book of historical fiction, Her Mother's Hope by Francine Rivers. (She wrote "Redeeming Love," which was a best-seller.) It's one of those sweeping novels -- first of two parts, actually -- that crosses generations and continents, starting out in Switzerland at the turn of the 20th century. I'm reading it on my own, but I have to confess I wish I were still in the book club I recently dropped out of (time reasons), because it's perfect for a book club -- strong characters, controversial discussion points and even a discussion guide. I'm really enjoying it.

  13. Good morning (just barely), all! I was at my kids' school this morning for Easter egg hunts!

Jane, I have Sarah MacLean's in my TBR pile and I hope to get to it very soon. Especially after Buffie's review!

Maureen, I am almost finished with The Summer of You and it is FABULOUS!!

I really need to take a speed-reading course. Right now, I can't read fast enough to keep up will all the wonderful books coming out each month!

  18. Happy Birthday to your grandfather, Andrea! How wonderful that he will be celebrating 90 years.

PJ, my list looks a lot like yours. No surprise there. :) Mine also includes A Touch of Scandal by Jennifer Haymore. I so want Garett to get his HEA.

  21. Wow, that's a lot of releases !! And since I'll be in the US this month I'll be able to buy a LOT of those on time !!

  22. Jedisakora, have you read Talk of the Town, the prequel to LLTA? It's a very funny, light novel that carries that particular American smalltown atmosphere (which I like very much although - of course! - I've never experienced it myself) and makes you feel good. I recommended it over at RBTB as a good springtime book! =)

  23. Thanks, Janga! My grandfather is such a wonderful man and is sharp as a tack. I hope he likes the surprise party. We're inviting people he's known all his life, including men he fought in WWII with. Should be fun!

Thanks, Jessica. It seems as if a lot of people are looking forward to Sarah MacLean's!!

  24. You're welcome and thanks for stopping by, Laura!

Oh no, Melissa! I hope your computer is okay and back to normal. It's funny how dependent we've become in regards to our computers and cell phones.

  25. I hope you have a great time in the US, Emmanuelle!!

  27. Wow, what a fabulous bunch of books are out this month. Jo Beverley's new one will be my first purchase, but I'll be getting many more. So many books to read, so little time.

Thanks so much for mentioning Sunrise in a Garden of Love & Evil here!

  28. Hi Lisa ^^
I actually have the talk of the town on order right now. ^^ I was attracted to the cover because it has a beagle puppy on it and we have a beagle pup in the house. ^^

Andrea: So far my computer is doing well. I just thank the heavens my father is a computer engineer and knows how to do this stuff. You're write on how dependent we become of stuff like the computer and phones. I usually eat my lunch at my computer and catch up on things, but today i had do idea what to do since my father was still working on it at that time. lol

  30. Woohoo!! Go, Deb!!

You're welcome, Barbara! And thanks for stopping by. :)

  31. Melissa, how lucky that your father is a computer engineer! My father isn't a computer engineer, but he knows more about computers than I do, so when I have a problem, I go to him. LOL

Absolutely, librarypat! There is always something for everyone.

  32. I'm looking forward to Karen Robards "Shattered".

  33. I have to go to the library later, to pick up a hold that came in, so I'm taking a printout of your list (plus suggestions here). I've heard a bit about the "True Love Knitting Club," so I may look for that.

    Happy Monday all.
