On April 9, Sherrilyn Kenyon hosted a prom-themed launch party for Inferno, the newest installment of her Chronicles of Nick YA series. Readers were so anxious to read what Nick and the gang were up to that I saw them reading the book not only while standing in line to get it signed but also while sitting at one of the tables as music played loudly and other people danced. The previous night, people were watching their clocks, waiting for midnight so Inferno would download to their e-readers. That, my friends, is a dedicated group of readers.

I recently finished reading in Inferno, and it has all the things that readers have come to expect from the Chronicles of Nick series -- danger, Nick's never-ending supply of snark, appearances by other favorite characters such as Big Bubba Burdette, owner of the local computer repair and gun shop (which also gives hosts classes in surviving zombie attacks), and the typical high school issues every boy faces -- namely, girlfriend trouble.
