To all of my fellow Americans celebrating Thanksgiving today, I wish you a safe and happy holiday. Whether you're gathering with family, friends, or enjoying a quiet respite with a good book, may your day be filled with blessings and gratitude.
My thanks today include each and every one of you who choose to hang out with me here in this little corner of the internet. You brighten my days with your comments and are the reason I continue to have so much fun doing this twelve years into my blogging adventure. Thank you!
Happy Thanksgiving!
What are your plans today? Are there already delicious aromas wafting from your kitchen?
I'm joining dear friends (more like family) for the holiday. My cranberry salad is already chilling in the fridge. Up next, is a gluten-free apple pie. While doing that, I'll be watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (an annual tradition) then heading to my friends' house for an afternoon of fun, food, football, and love. Plenty to be thankful for in my life today.
One person who comments on today's post before 11:00 PM, November 27 will receive a package of books from my stash.

Let me be the first to say Happy Thanksgiving. Yes, it's all about friends and family today. Lucky for me my oldest daughter hosts now (not quite as many leftovers though lol). I made the stuffing yesterday and I'll go early and help with the rest. Getting to watch some of the parade now! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I celebrated Thanksgiving on Sunday with my kids since my son is working today. We also celebrated 3 birthdays along with our Thanksgiving meal. My son had a birthday on Oct 15 and my birthday is Nov 11 with my daughter following on Nov 18. So it was an enjoyable day for everyone. The first indoor, up-close and personal party we've had since the onset of the pandemic. We've had outdoor 'porch parties' while the weather was warm...just too cold to do that now. Glad we all tested negative. I'm just resting the day away, reading and napping and watching TV.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving! My husband and I just arrived home from visiting family on the west coast for the last 5 months. We have not hit the grocery store yet, still trying to get the house and yard to rights before winter weather hits. This means that we will be having that famed Thanksgiving dish called Sausage and Prego sauced pasta tonight while we count our blessings. May everyone have a lovely holiday and enjoy all that we can be thankful for.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to everyone. I had dinner at my home - not a lot of people - 7 - but am tired, As i get older, it gets harder to make the holiday meals. Had a nice day tho' with daughter and her family and a friend and his son.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving! Just finished a family zoom - good to see everyone's faces - hopefully will be able t be together in person next year
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving! My family does midday dessert and coffee rather than a big meal — It was a small gathering this year due to the pandemic but still lovely to get together since we were unable to last year with the pandemic. I’m about to get a second helping of dessert and curl up with a book 😊
ReplyDeleteWe had all of our family here for Thanksgiving. We ate great food, watched a little football plus the Macy's Parade and the dog show. Our little granddaughters provided a lot of entertainment too.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a fun day planned. Happy Thanksgiving!
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I watched the Macy's Parade while starting my sour cream crescent rolls. The parade is also a tradition at our house followed by the kennel show. I made the rolls, a pumpkin pie, an apple pie, stuffing, did the turkey and got the table set. Our son and his wife came over for the day. She did a green bean casserole and a corn casserole. Today was his birthday so it was a double celebration. He was also born on Thanksgiving Day. One of our daughters had dinner at her house, but only our grandson was vaccinated out of 10 people there, so we decided to do dinner ourselves. He stopped by for pie and a visit on his way home. We will fix another meal (not turkey) for our oldest daughter when she comes up next week. She is coming up from Chapel Hill to Asheville to do her swearing in as a lawyer. She wanted to be able to share it with friends and family. I always did like stretching out celebrations.
ReplyDeleteWe did a family dinner at my daughter's house. She lives in the same town and celebrated with both my daughters and their family. It is always wonderful getting together with family.
ReplyDeleteWe had a low-key holiday. We normally spend it with my parents, but I've been under the weather so we stayed home. But it was nice with just my husband and two kids.
ReplyDeleteWe did Thanksgiving a week early with our kids and then just did cake and coffee on Thanksgiving day. We had lots of food in the freezer to put and I made turkey soup yesterday.
