New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia London’s romantic twist on Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Getting her to the wedding on time is the least of his worries...
Kate Preston just moved to New York, but she has to get back to Seattle in time for her best friend's wedding. Joe Firretti is moving to Seattle, and has to get there in time or risk losing his new job. But fate's got a sense of humor. Kate goes from rubbing elbows on a plane with a gorgeous but irritating strange (doggone armrest hog) to sharing one travel disaster after another with him on four wheels. Joe thought he had his future figured out, but sometimes fates has to knock you over the head pretty hard before you see what opportunity is standing in front of you...in a really god-awful poufy bridesmaid dress.

  1. I never been to a wedding where crazy stuff has happened. The most fun I've had was at my cousin's wedding in Vegas. It was so low key and stress free that everybody really enjoyed themselves.

    1. Jane, I've always wanted to attend a Vegas wedding. Seems like everyone always has such a good time!

  2. I would love to enter, but I was married at the courthouse 30 years ago! I think people spend to much to try to be happy! It cost us less than 20 dollars and i have never been happier

    1. Kim, I had a low-key wedding too. We had fewer than 20 guests (immediate family and closest friends), my dad officiated (he was a notary), no wedding dress and it took place in a gazebo on the water at sunset. I wouldn't have had it any other way!

  3. I didn't have a really bad bridesmaid's dress. they were all nice. I was only in 4 weddings. But I will say at one of my brother's wedding, were I was kind of the official greater as people came into the hall, one guy asked me who I was and when I said I was Peter's sister, he replied that he didn't know Peter even had a sister and I told him they kept me locked in the closest and only brought me out for special occasions.. That cracked them up...

  4. I hope I remember to enter the contest!! I"m putting a reminder on my calendar :) I happened to be in a medieval wedding! I was forced to dress in a bar wench/peasant hehe my poor hubby had to wear chainmeal and he swears it weighed 100 pounds! He couldn't get it on himself he had to kneel on the ground and have my brother lift it over his head. If I do remember to enter the contest I will post a link here of our photo so you can see

  5. Oh my. You hear stories of weddings like that but I've never met anyone who's actually participated in one. I'd love to see a photo!

  6. I actually liked the gown I wore. I haven't looked at the pictures in awhile, so I wonder if I would still like it. The gown had a removable skirt that I took off at the wedding reception. It then turned into a cute above-the-knee cocktail dress.

  7. My friend liked the idea of a southern wedding with the parasals when you are a larger person those dresses look hideous

    1. My friends know me well enough to not give me a parasol. I'd probably take out half of the guests! lol!

  8. How about an engagement story? It was my 33rd birthday & the biological clock was ticking! We went out to a nice restaurant & my husband had planned on proposing, but it was a bad night at the restaurant - they kept us waiting, it was too crowded, the food was burned. So, he didn't propose & I figured maybe he wasn't going to. The next day, we went to the beach & went for a walk & he knelt in the sand & proposed there. It was perfect, because I loved the beach & it was completely unexpected. We've been married 22 years!

  9. Well... my own wedding wasn't much. It was big by my standard and I really wanted a small one. But we had to have to a big one to please my in-laws.... It wasn't really what I wanted at all.

I was a lot happier at my brother's wedding. I was really happy for him and I can relax since it wasn't my own wedding!

    1. It's true. It's usually a lot less nerve-wracking and a lot more fun when it's not your own.

  10. None of the weddings I have attended have had awful dresses.
My now husband, whom I had never even dated, flew from Maine to the Philippines to propose to me. I was a Peace Corps Volunteer and there is more to the story. I didn't give him an answer right away, but we celebrated our 41st anniversary last June, so it worked out just fine.

  11. Always a bride, never a bridesmaid. I have never been asked to be someone's bridesmaid. I wish someone would have asked me and I would have gladly donned the most hideous dress in history!

  12. I've never been a bridesmaid, so I have no horror stories. LOL I bought the fabric and pattern, but my matron-of-honor made her own dress along with the ones for her two daughters, my junior bridesmaids. So if she didn't like them it wasn't all my fault. *gg* Actually, I still think they were very pretty.

  13. I was maid-of-honor at a some friends wedding and my husband was best man. When we met the night before the wedding, all I could think of was that I didn't like the way he was looking at me. It was the topic of the wedding for months afterwards. In fact, several members of my husband's family said we would end up married, and they were so right. We married a year later and reached our 39th wedding anniversary before he lost his bout with cancer on August 1st.

  14. Whoa! That is such a wonderful prize. Come to think of it, I have some pictures before of weird wedding dress designs. Too bad I wasn't able to reach the deadline. Hope they have more raffles to come. :)
