Coming Attractions

Welcome to 2022! It's the first month of a new year and the possibilities are endless. Here at The Romance Dish, we're kicking things off with a whole boatload of new books. I can't wait to discover what all of these authors have in store for us!

Monday, January 3 brings a review of Tracy Brody's Faking it with the Bachelor. This fast, fun, feel-good story had me grinning from beginning to end.

Be sure to stop by on Wednesday, January 5 for my review of Better Off Wed, the newest book in Susanna Craig's Love and Let Spy historical romance series, and a guest post by the author.

I'll be sharing my thoughts about Reese Ryan's The Bad Boy Experiment on Thursday, January 6. This sixth book in Harlequin Desire's The Bourbon Brothers series works well as a standalone but has me curious enough about the rest of the family to check out books 1-5 too.

I'll be Digging Up Love on Friday, January 7 with a power-lifting, cookie-making heroine and a hot Paleontologist hero chasing their dreams and possibly finding love...over dinosaur bones? Stop by to read my thoughts about this engaging, heart-tugging debut novel by Chandra Blumberg

On Monday, January 10, I'm turning my focus to the Harlequin Special Edition line with a review of Christmas at the Chateau by Rochelle Alers. Expect drool-worthy dishes and heartwarming romance in this second book of Alers' Bainbridge House series.

Tuesday, January 11 brings a review of The Family You Make by Jill Shalvis. This women's fiction novel launches Shalvis's new The Sunrise Cove series.

Great things sometimes come in small packages. Join me Friday, January 14 for a review of Sonali Dev's The Wedding Setup. Dev moves her already stellar writing bar even higher with this complex and deeply emotional short story. I loved it.

Addison Fox ramps up the intrigue and the romance with Undercover K-9 Cowboy, the fourth book in her Midnight Pass, Texas series. Stop in Monday, January 17 for my review of this new story from Harlequin's Romantic Suspense line.

Tuesday, January 18 brings a review of Must Love Books by Shauna Robinson, a new to me author. I'm looking forward to reading this contemporary fiction novel about a young woman chasing her dreams within the book publishing industry.

We're off to Scotland on Wednesday, January 19 with a tour review of Wishing Under a Starlit Skye by Lisa Hobman. I enjoyed Hobman's last book, Under a Sicilian Sky, and am eager to read more about the citizens of the small village of Glentorrin, on the Isle of Skye.

Jayne Ann Krentz concludes her Fogg Lake Trilogy with the upcoming novel, Lightning in a Mirror. I loved the first two books in this trilogy and can't wait to get my hands on this final book. Stop by to read my tour review on Thursday, January 20.

Marilyn Baron travels to beautiful and mysterious Venice, Italy with her newest novel: The Case of the Missing Botticelli. Join me on Friday, January 21 when I share my thoughts about this first Massimo Domingo Mystery.

Nancy joins us on Saturday, January 22 with a review of Ice Planet Barbarians: A SciFi Alien Romance by Ruby Dixon

Be sure to join me on Monday, January 24 when I'll share my review of His Lessons on Love by Cathy Maxwell, the third book in her A Logical Man's Guide to Dangerous Women series. I've been eagerly anticipating Marsden's story since book one and the fact that his heroine is Clarissa, his greatest critic, has amped my excitement even higher.

We're back to Alaska on Tuesday, January 25 with a review of Alaska Dreams by Jennifer Snow. I've enjoyed Snow's earlier Wild River books and am looking forward to another Alaskan adventure in this sixth book of the series.

Visit us on Wednesday, January 26 for my review of Bold Love by Lauren Accardo. Denny Torres was a standout secondary character in book two of Accardo's Forever Adirondacks series and I am eager to read his story in this third book of the series. *rescheduled

Maisey Yates
utilizes some of my favorite romance tropes in her steamy new Harlequin Desire: Rancher's Forgotten Rival. Enemies-to-lovers, amnesia, and family feuds for the win. I'll be sharing my thoughts about this first book in Yates' The Carsons of Lone Rock series on Thursday, January 27.  *rescheduled

Wrapping up the month on Friday, January 28 will be a review of Nan Reinhardt's The Valentine Wager. Reinhardt takes readers back to River's Edge (site of her popular Four Irish Brothers Winery series) with this first book in her new The Lange Brothers series. I'm looking forward to new stories, new characters, and, hopefully, a few cameos by old favorites.

That's it for January. Whew! We're hitting the ground running around here! In addition to reading books and writing reviews, I've also spent the past week clearing out books from my overflowing shelves. So, let's start the year with a giveaway...or two!

Tell me about the last book you read in 2021.

Or, tell me about the first book you're reading in 2022.

If you haven't been reading lately, share what book(s) you're most anticipating reading in this first month of the new year.

Two people who post a comment by 11:00 PM, January 5 will each receive a package of books from my stash.

  1. Lots of new authors for me but some favorites too. Last book I read was Hemlock Bay by Catherine Coulter - good one. Didn't start on a good note- someone lent me a book but it wasn't for me. I think I'm going to start one of my Dean Koontz stories that I got for Christmas.

I will not even tell you that I started about 4 or 5 other books in the last weeks of December and they were dnf for me. I simply did not like the people who were supposed to be people who drew my interest.

Hope everyone is well and safe and happy and that 2022 is wonderful for each of you.
