New Releases for January

Happy New Year! It is hard for me to believe that 2012 is here. It seems like only yesterday we were ringing in 2011. Where does the time go? It seems like we all lead busy lives and I am going to do my best to slow down and smell the roses this year because before we know it, it will be summer (my favorite season). I hope everyone had a great holiday with family and friends and was able to eat some good food. I got several bookstore gift cards for Christmas and will be putting them to good use because the January releases are upon us!

Which January releases have you read? Of those, which ones do you recommend? Which ones are you most looking forward to reading? Tell us and one lucky commenter will win a random book from my prize stash!

Until February, happy reading!

  22. Wow! I have more on my already-read list this month than on my TBR list. I’ve read and enjoyed to varying degrees all of the following:

The Other Guy’s Bride – Connie Brockway
Bride by Mistake – Anne Gracie
Trouble at the Wedding – Laura Lee Guhrke
The Duke Is Mine – Eloisa James
How the Marquess Was Won – Julie Anne Long
The Pleasure of Your Kiss – Teresa Medeiros
    Sanctuary Cove – Rochelle Alers
    Hidden Summit - Robyn Carr
    Lover’s Leap – Emily March
On Lavender Lane – JoAnn Ross
The Lure of Song and Magic – Patricia Rice

Most on this list are by auto-buy authors for me, and I’d recommend them. Since I’ve reviewed both here, it’s no secret that I had some problems with the Alers book and with Robyn Carr’s (one of my favorite authors). But even so, I think they are worth reading.

I’m reading Kaki Warner’s Colorado Dawn today, and Christina Brooke’s Mad About the Earl is next. Others on my list include At the King’s Pleasure – Kate Emerson, My Ruthless Prince – Gaelen Foley, A Lady Awakened – Cecilia Grant, Be My Texas Valentine – Jodi Thomas, Linda Broday, Phyliss Miranda, DeWanna Pace, and Copper Beach – Jayne Anne Krantz. I’m also looking forward to Lisa Dale’s A Promise of Safekeeping and Kay Stockham’s newest North Star, Montana book, A Hero in the Making.

  41. @Andrea A Lady Awakened was a good book. In the beginning, the heroine is cold and self-contained, but if you stick with it, it's an interesting debut book.
