Coming Attractions

Welcome to the merry month of May! This year is speeding along as fast as the airplanes I wish I was on, heading off to new adventures. And speaking of adventures, there are plenty to be found within the pages of all the new books coming out this month. Are are some of the titles I'll be spotlighting.

Launching this month's reviews on Tuesday, May 4 will be Anchored Hearts by Priscilla Oliveras. Stop by to read my thoughts about book two in the Keys to Love series. This Latinx contemporary romance is sure to appeal to fans of reunited high school sweethearts, second chance romance, and big, loving (and matchmaking), Cuban-American families.

Wednesday, May 5 brings a first look at Lizzie & Dante, a deeply emotional and beautifully written contemporary fiction novel by Mary Bly. Romance readers know Bly as historical romance novelist Eloisa James. Lizzie & Dante is her fictional debut, writing under her real name. Stop by for an excerpt from the book and a giveaway.

Romance, friendship, and a touch of suspense highlight the second book in Christi Barth's new Love Lottery series, set in a small town on the Maryland shore. I'll be sharing my thoughts about Definitely Not Dating on Thursday, May 6

Julie Johnstone wraps up her Scottish Scoundrels: Ensnared Hearts series with my favorite couple of the series. Lady Frederica and the Scot Who Would Not kept me flipping pages late into the night. Stop by to read my thoughts about their sizzling, action-filled, and unexpected, journey to love on Monday, May 10.

The saga of four friends, all at a crossroads in their lives, continues with The Secret at Sugar Sand Inn by Leigh Duncan. Join me on Friday, May 14 for my review of this second book in Duncan's Sugar Sand Beach, women's fiction series and a giveaway.

I love discovering new-to-me authors, especially when they come with a sizable back list. I fell in love with Sue Moorcroft's Under the Italian Sun, an emotional journey of self-discovery and love, set in the beautiful Italian countryside. Stop by Tuesday, May 18 for my blog tour review.

Who among us hasn't thought about packing our bags and embarking on a cross-country road trip, especially after the past year? That decision is at the heart of Sarah Morgan's newest women's fiction novel, The Summer Seekers. Don't miss my review on Wednesday, May 19

On Thursday, May 20, I'll be sharing my review of Pam Jenoff's The Woman With The Blue Star as part of the book's blog tour. Jenoff is one of my favorite authors writing in the WWII era, bringing characters - especially Jewish characters - to life with compassion and well-researched accuracy.

Friday, May 21
brings my review of Dear Roomie, the newest installment in Kate Meader's Rookie Rebels, contemporary romance series. This one features a grumpy - but hot - hockey playing hero, a scruffy rescued dog, and the upbeat, sunshine heroine who heals both their hearts.

Virginia Kantra is back with Beth and Amy, the second book in her richly emotional, contemporary duology inspired by Louisa May Alcott's Little Women. I'll be sharing my thoughts about Beth and Amy on Tuesday, May 25.

On Wednesday, May 26, stop by to read what I have to say about How to Find a Princess by Alyssa Cole. This queer contemporary romance, the second book in Cole's Runaway Royals series, is inspired by Anastasia and features a long-lost princess and the female investigator who finds her.

That's it for now! Check back throughout the month for any additions to the schedule.

What are you looking forward to this month? Any graduations, weddings, or other special events on your calendar? We have a family wedding in two weeks and I am beyond excited. Also well-stocked with tissues. Every time I look at the bride-to-be I see an adorable 3-year-old, sitting on my kitchen counter stirring a bowl of chocolate chip cookie dough with a wooden spoon. How did 23 years go by so fast?

What books are on your must-buy list?

Three randomly chosen people who post a comment before 11:00 PM, May 4 will each receive a book from my stash.

*Must be 18
*U.S. only

  2. Lots of exciting books coming this month. I just ordered a new kindle. My old one kept shutting down for no reason. I get a free 3 month trial of kindle unlimited. I'll give it a try, but I kinda like to OWN my books. We'll see how it goes.

  9. I've had most of these books on my radar for awhile! I am in love with Alyssa Cole's 2 Royals series! We'll be taking a trip to the Tetons in a week or so. Next month has a trip to see my dad (after waiting a while after this month's trip even though I've been vaccinated). We also have a wedding for a friend of my son's. We've been friends with the family since the 27 year old boys met in Kindergarten.

  10. Another nice selection of books. I am really looking forward to THE WOMAN WITH THE BLUE STAR. There is so much good WWII historical fiction coming out. I like Eloisa James and look forward to reading her contemporary written under another name. For once I am more interested in contemporary books rather than historical ones. I have been looking at THE SECRET AT SUGAR SAND INN by Leigh Duncan.
Enjoy the wedding. They really do grow up way too fast. No special events for us. Now we are both vaccinated, we may take a couple of days to visit our daughter and her family in Chapel Hill. Our granddaughter is growing up too fast.
