DING! DING! DING!
Spring has retreated back into hibernation here. After sunny, 80-degree weather a few days ago, it's now cold, gray, and miserable in these parts. And, I had to turn the heat back on! Believe me when I say that this did not make me happy. So, how do I turn my mood around and get my smile back? By making six of you happy!
Yes, you read that correctly. I've been cleaning out bookshelves again and have SIX packages of deliciously good romances of all types ready to wing their way to new homes. Some are new. Others are classics. A few are even signed by the author!
So, let's talk about things that make us happy. What's made you smile this week? A good book? A television show? A child's laughter? A puppy's cute antics? Tell me what's bringing the joy to your life these days. Or, what's on the horizon that has you happy dancing? For me, it's my first in-person author/reader event in more than two years, later this month.
SIX randomly chosen people who post a comment before 11:00 PM, Saturday, March 12 will each receive a package of books from my home library.
*U.S. only
*Must be 18
*Void where prohibited
Watching my granddaughter get her brown belt in karate. She always makes me smile. And I have been really enjoying some good reads lately, The Wish Book Christmas by Lynn Austin, a new author to me. And Wow 6 packages of books, Unbelievable! TY. Enjoy your reader/author event.
ReplyDeleteGetting to visit or babysit my 4 yr. old grandson. Now that he is older he gets to come to grandma and grandpa's house more often. And reading, always reading. I've given up evening tv to get more reading time in!!
ReplyDeleteSpending precious time with my granddaughters is always wonderful. They give me joy and happiness. My reading is my major form of entertainment and important.
ReplyDeleteWhen I walk in the neighborhood which is amazing I am uplifted and feel better than ever. When I want to escape from the realities I read and being with my grandsons is very special and wonderful. Their antic are always enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteWaking up to hear the birds singing outside I know spring is here and going upstairs to wake my daughter up for work and seeing the dog laying on her bed with her half off the bed cause of the bed hog dog of hers LOL, I love this time of year
ReplyDeletePenney
watching a video on my phone of my great-niece (she's almost 3) sing Tora Lora (that's an Irish Lullaby) - my Mom used to sing that to my niece - maybe that's why St. Patrick's Day is her favorite holiday!
ReplyDeleteCelebrating a family birthday with my 3 granddaughters, and one of them is only a month old. They bring such joy to my life.
ReplyDeleteI just finished a re-read of The Viscount Who Loved Me in anticipation for Bridgerton Season 2. I also found out my pilates/physical therapy instructor loves historical romance! So we have all sorts of topics to discuss during class. :-)
ReplyDeleteIn non book related life and more importantly, my sister had a health scare with possible bone infection or cancer -- one doctor wanted to amputate it. She had surgery yesterday (by a different hand specialist) and they're 99.99% sure it isn't cancer plus she gets to keep her thumb!
Looking forward to Easter and to warmer weather.
ReplyDeleteMy puppy! She is so funny.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to the biannual reunion of my husband's Air Force unitThey are a great group of people. We are so spread out, this is our only way to see most of them. We will also be visiting a few friends on the trip. We were looking forward to taking our RV, but are rethinking that. We are driving from the NC border to Arizona and back. With the price of gas we may be taking the car instead.
ReplyDeleteHere in Florida we have had a few days of continual rain. I must confess that I love to sit on my porch and read with the rain as a backdrop. Looking forward to all the spring flowers.
ReplyDeleteSeeing my bulbs coming up in the garden...finding a dress for my sons wedding in 3 weeks will also make me happy -- I'm on dress #6 right now!
ReplyDeleteWhat truly filled me with delight was while raking out my garden to prepare for planting the heartiest early seeds, I found at least four arugula sprigs still alive, and they provided enough greenery for a small delicious salad for my husband and me. Now I've planted more, along with the first two types of lettuce, so soon every night will be made more satisfying with wonderful fresh-picked greens.
ReplyDeleteCelebrating my grandson’s 8th birthday today!
ReplyDeleteBabysitting my 7 month old grandson a lot! He smiles constantly. He has just learned how to scoot up on his knees and rock. He already loves to look at books, turn the pages and listens to the story. He makes me laugh!
Also my two youngest children brought their families to our home for a visit. We had a wonderful time! Weather could have been better.
My daughter told us that we are going to be grandparents for the first time. I am so excited! She asked us not to say anything on social media but this is not Facebook/Twitter/Instagram.
ReplyDeleteIn spite of the fact that I have been giving plants away right and left....I ordered some seeds. The plants I gave away were generally too heavy for me to move anymore. I have a patio which had quite a few pots filled with plants. I have ordered flower seeds. Flowers I have never grown. Flowers that will give me color and joy every day they bloom. I am having a really bad time right now and I need all the joy I can get.
ReplyDeleteHope everyone is well and safe and happy.
I'm so happy to be back at my old job, after going to a new one for one week! Instant stress reduction!
ReplyDeleteSeeing one last snow for the season (hopefully).
