The morning air was crisp and cool the other day which was enough to send me to the garage to begin pulling out my fall decorations. I love to change the decor in my condo to complement the different seasons. I don't go overboard (I use to but that was when I had a big house) yet the small number of accessories I place throughout the rooms are a great way to bring a freshness to the overall ambiance of my home. It's effecting change without making too much of a change...or costing a lot of money. Here are a few of my favorites.
I love candles but the insurance company for our condo association has banned real ones so I've transitioned over to LED candles. No fragrance but the candle "effect" is surprisingly real. Here's one that I've tucked into a fall vase to bring a glow to my living room.
Many of my fall/Halloween-themed decorations went to new homes when I sold my house but this friendly ghost made the cut.
I'll be basking in my fall colors until Thanksgiving weekend. That's when Christmas comes to call here at PJ's condo.

I've gotten lazy in my old age. I do have decorations but don't always pull them out. I've been thinking about it this year - I think we need that extra something to cheer things up. Yours are lovely!
ReplyDeleteThank you. They make me smile and that makes it worth the effort.
DeleteNo, I don't do seasonal decorating!
ReplyDeleteI should, but I don't always - especially now that no one is coming in my house. I've been working to go thru the many years of accumulation of stuff to thin them out. I do have some nice fall things that I'll try to get down from the attic just to be festive.
ReplyDeleteI've been decluttering too. Amazing how much we accumulate!
DeleteThe only time I go all out for decorating is during the Christmas season. I might get a few large pumpkins to put on the porch for the fall season. That's about it. bluedawn95864 at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteI've scaled way back on my Christmas decorating.
DeleteI only decorate for Christmas because of Time restraint. I make the extra effort and time to do it for Christmas only.
ReplyDeleteI do and love it

Fall decorating is lovely. I enjoy this time of year and look forward to the change of season.
ReplyDeleteYour decor items are special and autumn is such a special time. I love the colors and do buy a new accessory each year.
ReplyDeleteI have kept an artificial pre-lit Christmas tree up all year. We've gone thru Valentine's Day hearts, Easter bunnies and eggs, red/white/blue summer/4th of July, and now fall pumpkins, sunflowers, and Halloween/Thanksgiving ornaments. It may be crazy but it makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! :)
DeleteNo, no room to store anything
ReplyDeleteI do some, and love yours--all the glass would be shattered with three littles running around here! We stick with a few fall touches that are fairly indestructible! More comes out around Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI remember those days with curious puppies and a revolving door of littles from around the neighborhood. Everything within reach had to be indestructible but, oh, it was so much fun. And now those littles have their own littles! :)
DeleteI put out seasonal decorations. I have a glass pumpkin like yours, but mine is a dark pink/mulberry color.

I love to decorate with the change of the seasons, but not to the point where my house looks like a store. I definitely decorate more from September through December. I have some treasured family items and some sentimental favorites from friends. People know that I collect pumpkins and Fall items, gingerbread people and snowmen, figurines and plush toys from the original "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" TV special, and anything Snoopy. It's always a treat to add to my collections
ReplyDeleteI no longer decorate for seasons.
ReplyDeleteHope everyone is well and safe and happy.
I don't decorate as much as I used to. More so for Christmas. I do put out decorative stakes outside of for Christmas, Halloween and Thanksgiving. I put a few decorative pumpkins inside the house. I have many holiday wreaths but really have not been putting them out since I have gotten older.
ReplyDeleteI love setting up my Fall decor and I try to change it up every year.
ReplyDeleteI used to go overboard when my children were here. I've slacked off a lot. I do change my flowers and candles with the seasons. I still go overboard for Christmas though
ReplyDeleteI love to decorate for the seasons and holidays, especially Fall and Christmas. My Fall decorations are going up this week. I have pumpkins, scarecrows, candles, floral centerpieces, etc.
ReplyDeleteI love the fall colors. I have a caramel apple candy dish, one that is a leaf with fall colors and little squirrels.
ReplyDeleteI've not decorated since my kids were little.
ReplyDeleteI used to decorate extensively for every season. I haven't done it in a while. The children are grown and the grandchildren moved away. We live out in the country and have no one around. Right now I have been digging through things and have boxes all over trying to decide how to start downsizing. Once the mess is cleaned up, I will feel more like dragging out decorations. Whether or not anyone else sees them, they do cheer me up and that is what they really are for.
ReplyDeleteI do have a basket that I switch out the flowers, etc for the season to put in the entryway. If I get ambitious, I might put that one together. I was a children's librarian and have some wonderful candelabras , and other haunted house stuff that I used at the library. They work well in our victorian farm house. I have tablecloths for every season and event, and those will go out. I have special sets of dishes for Fall, Christmas/winter, and Spring, plus a few fun ones for summer. Just using the table coverings and dishes makes a big difference.
Other than Christmas decorating, I only switch out flowers between wildflowers/summer flowers, and fall colored flowers and leaves, winter we have holly and poinsettas.
ReplyDeleteJust took my box that had Fall on it:)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter decorates like crazy every holiday. I put out pumpkins and some gourds and Indian corn around my lamp post.
ReplyDeleteDon't put much fall stuff out, just a few pumpkins. For Christmas a tree and some decorations in and out. Pattyb43
ReplyDeleteHalloween is my favorite holiday and my college colors are orange and black. (So are the colors of my favorite baseball team.) So that's the holiday that I have the most decorations!
ReplyDeleteMy tablecloths and matching cloth napkins follow the seasons. It is that bit of everyday that I love to change throughout the year.
