Happy New Year!
2010 is here!! Did you stay up late? Kiss that special someone? Every January 1, millions of people make New Year's resolutions, whether it be to lose weight, exercise more, get organized, or whatever. Some keep them, many try to keep them, and many do not. Personally, I'm not a resolution maker. I guess I've just never felt the need to make one formally, though my husband says we need to finally tackle that garage. I am SO not looking forward to that....
Do you make New Year's resolutions? If so, what are some of yours for 2010? Do you think you'll be able to keep them? Have you kept many resolutions from the past?
And more importantly, which books are you looking forward to in 2010?!?!

i always make resolutions in past years but after a few weeks i forget all about them like i never made them or the ones that i try so hard to keep, the opposite always seem to happen--so no more resolutions!
ReplyDeleteas for books i'm looking forward to... i don't usually plan ahead and just buy books as i see them at the store or when i find a book i like online i plan to buy it then.
hmm... i do have larrisa ione's ecstasy unveiled on amazon pre-order (1/26) and i'll eventually buy pleasure of a dark prince by kresley cole (2/15) once i begin the IAD series but other than that no list
Happy New Year everyone *\^w^/*
ReplyDeleteI rang in the new year with my sister watching back episodes of Hey Arnold. lol
I've made a couple of new year resolutions for this year. I vow to stress and worry less. I promise myself to be more patient with people and with myself as well. To find my first boyfriend (yes i'm a sad sad 23 year old) and a full time job. I also vow to read at least 50 books this year.
I really have a ton of books i'm looking forward too in 2010. I'm not really up to date on new releases, but i tons of books i'd like to read. ^w^
Hope everyone had a nice new year!
Happy New Year, everyone. I haven't made any resolutions yet, but I guess I will try to exercise more regularly and watch what I eat. I'm looking forward to Loretta Chase's "Last Night's Scandal," Allison Brennan's Seven Deadly Sins series, Barbara Freethy's "Into Shelter Cove," Beverley Kendall's "Sinful Surrender" and Lisa Kleypas' "Married by Morning."
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I make general resolutions. One of them is to try something new each week. It can be something as simple as trying a new recipe or visiting a new place that I have never been to. I usually don't remember what new books are coming up which is why I visit websites like this and sign up for newsletters by my favorite authors but I do know that Loretta Chase has a new one out this year and the characters were children in a previous story and they were great fun.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, everyone!
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking seriously about resolutions this year, focusing on things that are really important to me. It's making me look forward to 2010!
I ALWAYS have intentions of losing weight. Last year I did it, too. I lost 30 lbs. But, with my husband home this last fall, I gained 14 back. So, I will probably have to join the gym again to lose that miserable 14.
ReplyDeleteFor the most part, I am just going to take each day as is and enjoy time with family.
Happy New Year to all!
Happy New Year's to my wonderful friends at Romance Dish!!!
ReplyDeleteHere's to lots of wonderful books to read!!
Wishing everyone a healthy and happy 2010! I don't make "official" resolutions, but this year I'm striving to live healthier: eating better, exercising, and not getting so stressed out!
ReplyDeleteAs for books, there are soooo many I'm looking forward to! My TBR mountain runneth over! LOL
I did make a few resolutions. Last year I made a commitment to myself and my writing. This year I'm amping up the volume. I will read more, write more, and learn more than I ever have before. I want this so bad I taste it every morning when I wake up and it's in the last breath before I fall asleep and everywhere in between. 2010 will be my year :-)
ReplyDeleteThere are too many books to list...hell, I'm still trying to catch up with some of 2009's best.
I met my last year's resolution and it is the same this year-
ReplyDeleteTo read 10 new authors that I have yet to read. I read some wonderful new writers of romance. Looking forward to doing the same
Happy New Year, everyone! I started the day off cleaning and putting away Christmas stuff. It's all done except for the tree and ornaments (which takes a long time!). And of course, my husband has been cleaning out the garage. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHooray to everyone who can stick to their resolutions! Hmmm, maybe that's why I don't make any . . . that way if I don't keep them I won't feel guilty. LOL
Jane, MARRIED BY MORNING by Lisa Kleypas is probably the book I am most looking forward to all year. That and Julia Quinn's TEN THINGS I LOVE ABOUT YOU.
ReplyDeleteWe wish you all the best with your writing, angel28140!!
joye, that's a great resolution! Which new-to-you authors did you discover last year?
I'm a big resolution and goal maker. Keeps me on track, actually gets me excited to tackle everything.
ReplyDeleteThere are lots of books, many by good friends, who are coming out in 2010. MJ Fredrick's latest, Breaking Daylight; Joss Ware's new series; the last of the Hunger Games books; Lover Mine by J.R. Ward; and many others.
Andrea, "Love In The Afternoon" releases a month after "Married By Morning." I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that she had back to back releases.
ReplyDeleteHELLO! and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
ReplyDeleteI rang in the new year by having my hubby wake me up 5 min before midnight and telling me that i should probably go sleep in our bed, instead of on the couch.
I had been watching him play Deadliest Catch on his x-box 360.
I don't really make new years resolutions, but I do have some goals for this year.
I hope to read and post review for 100 books.
That is my ultimate goal as far as books go this year.
Books I'm looking forward to? WOW there are alot!
here is a list of 10 in no particular order.
1. Silver Borne by Patricia Briggs
2. Sinful Surrender by Bevarley Kimball (her debut novel only 4 days till release day!)
3. My Recklass Surrender by Anna Campbell
4. Death's Mistress by Karen Chance
5. Pleasure of a Dark Prince by Kresley Cole
6. Moon Sworn by Keri Arthur
7. Shadow Fever by Karen Marie Moning
8. The Elusive Bride by Setphanie Laurens
9. Tortured by Lauren Kate
10. Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick
And there are many many more books that I'm waiting for.
Happy New Year's to the lovely gals at The Romance Dish!
ReplyDeleteI'm not big on resolutions, since I never keep them. This year I'm trying to set goals, instead. My biggest goal will be to work more consistently and to stop procrastinating. We'll see how that goes!
I'm really looking forward to the bonanza of historicals this year, especially those by Loretta Chase, Lisa Kleypas, Eloisa James, Anna Campbell, and Christina Dodd. I'm very excited that La Dodd is returning to historical romance.
I hope you keep your resolutions, Trish!
ReplyDeleteI know, Jane! Isn't that great?! I'm looking forward to both but moreso for MBM!!
What a great goal, Dorthy! And a great list of books, too!
I hope you meet your goals, Vanessa!
Happy NEW YEAR!
ReplyDeleteI resolve to exercise more. I fell off the exercise wagon last year and I plan on getting with it.
I also plan to make more time for myself.
I am looking forward to She's Gone Country by Jane Porter in 2010.
My Reckless Surrender by Anna Campbell June 2010
Happy New Year everyone! I can't believe it's already 2010. I'm really not that big on making resolutions, and I've always forgot about them a few weeks later in the past anyway. I do have a few goals I would like to accomplish though.
ReplyDeleteThe books I'm looking forward to this year are Lisa Kleypas' "Married by Morning", and Susan Elizabeth Phillips book that features the hero Ted.
Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteWishing all of you a very happy, healthy 2010. Hope it's a year of new adventures, new friendships and great books! Thanks for kicking off the year with us here at The Romance Dish!
Happy New Year,everyone! :)
ReplyDeleteNo, no one to kiss at midnight, unfortunately. ::Sigh:: I didn't stay up late. Didn't make it to midnight, as a matter of fact. I haven't made any resolutions either, but if I were to, it'd probably be something along the lines of exercising more, and working on not procrastinating, and more self-discipline.
I'm looking forward to the last two Hathaway books by Lisa Kleypas, anything by Eloisa James and Julia Quinn, the last two books in Nora's Wedding Quartet as well as her July single The Search, Maya Rodale's A Groom of Her Own, Something About You by Julie James, and that's just off the top of my head. I'm sure there are many that I'm missing.
I don't make resolutions but I do set goals. Don't ask me the difference but a difference there is. I did kiss that special someone, our anniversary is New Year's Eve...LOL Sooooo easy to remember.
ReplyDeleteOh, and two books that I am looking forward to are by Lisa Kleypas, Married by Morning and Love in the Afternoon.
ReplyDeleteHello, Romance Dish ladies!
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to a year of great books, but this year I'm especially looking forward to my CP Inara Scott's first book hitting the shelves--Delcroix Academy: The Candidates.
It's a YA urban fantasy--sort of Xmen for girls, & I have loved this book since she whispered the idea for it to me during a workshop at the 2006 RWA national conference in Atlanta. Seeing it on the shelves is going to be so cool. I can't promise I won't weep a little bit right there in the aisle when I spot it.
As for other books I'm looking forward to, will I be booed off the internet if I confess I've never read Diane Gabaldon's Outlander books, or JR Ward's Lover books? I've promised myself I'll at least start both series (serieses? What's the plural of series?) in 2010, if not knock them off. (I can be obsessive. A little.)
Ooooh, & I'm really looking forward to Jessica Andersen's next installment in the NightKeeper's series.
I make the resolutions but don't usually keep them. This year I will 1) try to lose weight; 2)try to have lunch with a friend at least once a month and 3) read more than 12 books from my own TBR!!
ReplyDeleteBooks I want to read: too many to list but I am going to try to read many or the books I won in 2009!!
Happy New Year! I stopped making resolutions years ago as I never seemed to keep up, so why stress myself, lol.
ReplyDeleteSome books I want asap - Married By Morning (Kleypas - Leo!), Ravishing in Red (Madeline Hunter), Something About You (Julie James), Ten Things I Love About You (Quinn), His At Night (Sherry Thomas), and everything by Nalini Singh.
My resolutions can be summed up in three words--more and less. Write more, exercise more, and listen more; blog roll less, eat less, and talk less.
ReplyDeleteI have a list of nearly 170 books that will be released in 2010 at http://justjanga.blogspot.com/. And I'm looking forward to every one of them. I'm most looking forward to the debut novels of Sara Lindsey (Promise Me Tonight in February), Maggie Robinson (Mistress by Mistake in May) and Tiffany Clare (The Surrender of a Lady in October). I've already read--and loved-- Courtney Milan's Proof by Seduction.
Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI decided this year to make goals not resolutions. I don't tend to keep resolutions. This way I probably will. A few of them are:
1. Love more
2. Read more
3. Become healthier
4. Blog more
5. Laugh more
How about you, what's yours?
