Even though we are in the middle of the proverbial “dog days of summer” (at least here in the U.S.), my kids start back to school on Monday. *sigh* I’m already a nervous wreck because my son starts middle school, so I’m hoping that escaping between the pages of a good book will take my troubles away. :)
And speaking of good books, August brings us a bunch! I’ve had the pleasure of reading Wicked in Your Arms by Sophie Jordan and it was a wonderful book! I am really looking forward to Jaci Burton’s Changing the Game. I absolutely adored the first book in her Play-by-Play series, The Perfect Play (and not just because of the cover *g*), and can’t wait to dive in to this one. I’m also looking forward to reading all about The Amorous Education of Celia Seaton by Miranda Neville. Should be another good one about the infamous Burgundy Club!
Which August releases have you read? Of those, which ones do you recommend? Which ones are you most looking forward to reading? Tell us and one lucky commenter will win a random book from my prize stash!
Until September, happy reading!

Two books I really want to read are The Many Sins of Lord Cameron by Jennifer Ashley. I have read the first two books and they were great. And Playing Dirty by Susan Andersen looks like like a good story too.
ReplyDeleteOh, Helen, could you send some of your lovely weather this way, please? We've been under constant heat advisories. We try not to leave the house unless we have to!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bella. I think I'm more nervous than he is. He's on the autistic spectrum, so it takes him a little longer to adjust to change, but once he does, he'll be fine as he's all about routine. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, and Richelle Mead's book will be on next month's list (since it's considered a Sept. release). Thanks for letting me know!
Julie Garwood is a great choice, Jane!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you loved The Amorous Education of Celia Seaton, Sheree! I'm also looking forward to a new Victoria Dahl book. :)
ReplyDeleteDianna, I have Donna's on my TBB list, too!
ReplyDeleteAntonia, Jenna Petersen's latest is on my TBB list (I really need to get to B&N) and I have Tracy Anne Warren's in my TBR pile. Can't wait to read these!
ReplyDeleteMaureen, I love those Mackenzies! Playing Dirty looks good, too. Or how about Playing Dirty with the Mackenzies.... *g*
ReplyDeleteI had to chuckle at that question. It's only August 5th and I find myself still working on July releases! However, I love having all of these August goodies listed in one place. I shall be transferring these titles to my Wish List! Thanks for providing it. In addition, everyone stay cool. Fall is just around the corner.

ReplyDeleteGreat list Andrea!
ReplyDeleteI am reading Devil in Disguise by Stefanie Sloan right now, so may have to check out the other books in her series (God bless back to back releases! lol)
I am also very interested in Miranda Neville's Amorous Education of Celia Seaton, and Lila's Midnight Dance.
And of course, Tessa Dare's A Night to Surrender, and Katharine Ashe's In the Arms of a Marquess are at the top of my list on Aug. 30 even though I think it's technically a Sept. release.
I’m reading The Ideal Man (Garwood) now. Next up is Armstrong’s Spell Bound. I read Haymore’s Confessions of an Improper Bride. It’s not my favorite of her books, but worth a read.

ReplyDeletelove susan anderson books
Wow, back to school in early August? That's just wrong!
ReplyDeleteAbout Middle school: don't worry too much. Just be there to support him; but you know that!
Our son had a difficult first JHS year, but then had a great last two years, was amazing in High School, and then graduated from UC Berkeley. With a nod to Adam Sandler...Not too Shabby!
Now as for the books, I just finished "An Echo in the Bone." Number seven in Diana Gabaldon's epic "Outlander" series. (Some very interesting and unexpected story lines!) Now I am going to treat myself to Julia Quinn's
"Just Like Heaven" while I contemplate all these wonderful August releases. Thanks for giving us a great starting point!
