New Releases for February

Because of Valentine’s Day, February is frequently referred to as the month of love. Personally, my husband and I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. The kids have fun exchanging Valentines, but February means something different to us: our son’s birthday. :) Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? If so, are you doing anything special? February also brings in a bunch of hot new releases! Which February releases have you read? Of those, which ones do you recommend? Which ones are you most looking forward to? Tell us and one lucky poster will win a fabulous February release, All Night With a Rogue, graciously offered by historical author Alexandra Hawkins! You can check out my review of it here.

  1. We don't really do anything special, but it would be nice to come home to some flowers or chocolate. I've read "The Elusive Bride" by Stephanie Laurens. I love her books and can't wait for the next book in this series. I'm really looking forward to Cate Noble's "Deadly Seduction," Allison Brennan's "Original Sin" and Sara Lindsay's debut "Promise Me Tonight."

  2. we don't celebrate Valentine :) But i will make a pan of Devil's cake for my Hubby and son !

i'm looking forward to read :
Blonde With a Wand -- Vicki Lewis Thompson
Embrace the Night Eternal -- Joss Ware
All Night With a Rogue -- Alexandra Hawkins
Ravishing in Red -- Madeline Hunter
    Spider’s Bite -- Jennifer Estep
Succubi Like it Hot -- Jill Myles

  3. Andrea another month of fantastic books I really need to retire so as I have more time for reading LOL. So many books to look forward to The Elusive Bride is one of them I have just finished The Untamed Bride and I do love Stephanie's books and Sara Lindsays Promise Me Tonight and Nalini Singhs new one as well so many.

WE don't do much for Valentines Day either I often get a box of chocolates which I love but I am happy just to spend time together.

I am going out to lunch with a group of Ladies from The Aust Romance Readers Assoc and I am so looking forward to that.

    Have Fun

  4. Hi ^^
I don't celebrate Valentines day. I don't like the idea of only having one day a year where you profess your love for another person. Plus it's not really fair to the singles. Therefore i celebrate "Singles Awareness Day". You're never more aware and shoved in your face that your single than around valentines day.

I actually haven't gotten to read any of the February reads yet. I
have a few on my bookshelf, but haven't gotten to them yet. Plus i usually rely on this list to tell me what's coming up. ^^

  5. My husband is always so sweet to send me flowers on Valentine's Day. The sweetest, and most romantic, bouquet I got from him was the V-Day I was pregnant (our daughter would be born 2 months later). He sent me a bouquet at school that had 11 red roses with a pink one in the very center. The card said, "To my Sweet Valentine and our precious, little Valentine." Sigh.

But, what I'd like to know, why do kids think Valentine's Day is a 2nd Christmas? We used to get little, fun gifts from my mom, but nothing major. My daughter asked for a camera! I will make a nice dinner that night and maybe a decorated cake.

I've bought a couple of the new releases and they're on my TBR pile: The Golden Season, Viking In Love, Ravishing In Red, Lessons In French, and I'm reading The Truth About Lord Stoneville right now. There are many more I want to yet buy!

  6. Jane, I am looking forward to Sara Lindsey's, too! I've heard nothing but good things about it!

  7. Mmmmm, Devil's cake. Sounds delicious, Mariska! Great choices for books. I hope you enjoy them!

  8. LOL, Helen!! I thought that when I stayed home with my kids that I'd have more time to read. Nope! Seems like I have less time now. Go figure.

Spending time together is so important. I hope you have a great day!

  9. Hey, jedi! Very good point. Honestly, I just don't see the point of Valentine's Day. Never have.

    Glad you like the list!

  10. Oh, Deb, that's so sweet!! You have a good hubby. :) My son was born 44 minutes before Valentine's Day. While in labor, I kept telling the doctor to hurry up because I didn't want a Valentine's baby!

My kids expect a little candy and that's it. Don't tell them that others treat it like a second Christmas! LOL

I hope you enjoy The Golden Season. Such an awesome book!

  11. Hubby usually gives me a card and flowers, and some chocolate of course, but only a little bit!(my request)

I am so far behind, I am still reading books I got for Xmas, Nov/Dec releases!

I have been lamenting about the lack of Historical/paranormals, so I would love to read 'Moon Craving' and 'Charming the Devil'
I do have "The Accidental Countess" on order, love Michelle Willingham!

  12. I will be reading Connie Brockway's The Golden Season and Jennifer Blake's, Triumph in Arms. I've been hearing good buzz about new author, Sara Lindsey, so I might give her book a try, too.

  13. Somehow I missed the Deborah Simmons book, Andrea. I have now added it to my TBB list. Thanks. Romance/women's fiction authors sent a truckload of valentines to their readers this year. February is an amazing book month. I've already read seven on the list, all of them good to grand. I echo the recommendations for Sara Lindsey's Promise Me Tonight. I loved it! I also highly recommend Kristin Hannah's Winter Garden. I stayed up til the wee hours to finish that one.

  14. There are a lot of books out that look great this month. I would love to read the books by Madeline Hunter, Sabrina Jeffries, Nicole Jordan, Donna Kauffman, Kristan Higgins just to name a few.
We don't make a big deal about Valentine's Day so we will probably have a nice dinner

  15. Another great list, Andrea! Good thing I got Amazon and B&N gift cards for Christmas! :) I've read 10 of the February books so far but hope to read many more.

I don't have a Valentine so no big personal celebrations for me. I do mail Valentines to the little people in my life and this Saturday, my church circle is having a Valentine's Tea for 14 teen girls from a local wilderness camp. I just finished making heart-shaped chocolates and putting them in cute little boxes for the Tea.

  16. I feel you, Drew! I'm sooooo behind in my "pleasure" reading--like, September. Eek! Maybe one of these days I'll catch up. But probably not. *sigh*

  17. Enjoy The Golden Season, Penfield. I simply cannot say enough good things about it!

  18. Janga, I've never read a Kristin Hannah book but have heard so many wonderful things about them. One of these days!

  19. Maureen, I have Kristan Higgins's latest in my TBR mountain and hope to get to it soon. I love her stuff!

  20. I have gift cards, too, PJ! So, I'm still buying boks that I can't read yet. LOL

Oh, have fun Saturday! It's my little man's 10th birthday so we're celebrating in style!

  21. Dang, that Stephanie Bond cover is hot! I really need to pick up that book. I love her stuff.

We keep Valentine's Day pretty simple at our house. I'll probably do heart shaped pancakes with strawberries and the kids always get candy.

  22. Thanks for the recommendations (and of course, thanks for including The Next Best Thing!). I'm always on the lookout for books for my daughter, so I appreciate the YA suggestions. For V-Day, I make McIrish creme brulee in heart-shaped ramekins and draw him a card. Usually stick figures, but it's the thought that counts!

  23. Another great month of books! How will I ever get around to reading all of the ones I want?? ;)

My hubby and I exchange cards, and he usually gives me flowers. My kids give me chocolate. *g*

  24. I have Stephanie's in my TBR mountain, too, Buffie. She's awesome!

Mmmm, strawberries. What time is breakfast? LOL

  25. Thanks for stopping by, Kristan! Aww, I think your Valentine's Day idea is so sweet. :)

  26. Gannon, I don't think we will get around to reading them all! LOL Mmmm, chocolates are always good. ;-)

  27. Great List! Sooo many books I want to read. Need to hit the bookstore soon.
Valentine's Day usually consists of flowers in my house and my husband providing the meal. It is my birthday so I don't cook on my day! The kids get token gifts and cards. My husband gets a card and me! (What more could he possibly want?! *vbg* 0

  28. If your husband cooks, then that's a GREAT day, Cyndi! Happy Birthday to you!!

  29. All Night With a Rogue -- Alexandra Hawkins

I am dying to read this!!
